Tonight is an extra shift at time and a half, so I will have a nice gear XMas present for myself when the check comes (still thinking about a high quality -20 or better sleeping bag).”

A less expensive bag could be used at higher temperatures. For the colder weather I would suggest a nice insert, wool socks, long Johns, fleeze pants and jacket, a wool blanket over the sleeping bag or any combination of these items. Just like wearing layers of clothing, one can use layering in your bed roll.
