Did ya do it?
Were you alone Christmas Eve? I was. For the first time, I think, since my Mom's death in 2000. (And she was in a nursing home and not "herself" for years and years before that)

Anyhooooo... not so bad. Didn't freak out. Watched the rented DVD "Bridget Jones Diary" and then "A Christmas Story" on TNT (love that movie!) Caught Ewker on IMs around 11.

I survived! yeah, me! I could have gone to my friend's house to her Christmas Eve stuff, but figured it was time to face one alone.

Today, Christmas Day? Heading to a community dinner put on by volunteers (and yes, will cover it). Then down to my old trailer to sop up water from broken pipes.

Ahhhhhhhhh, fun. Anyway, am making it through these two days, so far in fine shape!!

Peace on earth and goodwill towards men/women?

I spent Christmas day trying to keep my mouth shut amongst a zillion rude in-law relatives, and slaving to provide dinner and dessert for those people.

I need to backpack on Christmas day like some of you people.

I sure as heck wasn't alone this morning! I decided to hit the grocery store early, to avoid the crowds. WRONG! There was hardly a parking space to be had at 7:25 this morning. Yow!

oh man. we went last night to try and find twignut an IPOD.

HUGE HUGE mistake. at 9:00 pm they were still out there. I guess with the strike, a lot of people were not able to shop. it took me 1 1/2 hours to drive 10 blocks while on work. i was ready to run people over!!!
well needless to say we did not find the IPOD for twig, so she will get a pic of it in a box LOL

I still need to buy my wife something to open, I got her a gift card in a Christmas card but she wants a box to shake, poke, etc. She's like her mom. Her mom is so bad that she used to open the presents for her to see what was inside, then rewrap em and put em back under the tree.

Damn Chappy, your family sounds more and more like mine. When I was a kid I was a master at rewrapping presents so they didn't look opened. Now I have this uncanny (darned frightening actually) ability to guess what's in a package. HPM and my mom both really hate it.

My wife's the same way, so I put BB's and rocks and stuff in the boxes so she can't possibly guess. Plus the box might be five sizes too big.

My husband tried that trick a few times with me. It worked the first couple of times, then I caught on.

Man, did I make some weird Christmas cookies. They're Danish pepper something or others. Tenny little bite sized cookies that no matter what I did turned out very crunchy. I like them that way, but I have never heard of crunchy cookies like this. There's no pepper in them either, just cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, and anise extract.

my wife, my son's girlfriend, and I made cookies all day yesterday: Peanut brittle, Rusky's, and teacake cutouts. Well...they made em and I ate em....

One of my best friends has this crazyassed family. Two sisters, 7 damn wild kids between them and his dad all live together and one of the sister’s baby’s daddy. He said he’s dropping presents off and not even staying. He said he can’t handle his family. He’s spending Christmas alone. I know if I asked him to spend it with my family he won’t so I’m making him Christmas dinner to drop off for him with some gifts. He said he was going to go to the local AMVETS post to cook for the vets.

I was at Wally World last night returning a heater that isn't working right. Wasn't too bad. I had figured I better hit the "return" line BEFORE the post-Christmas deluge!!!

Geez lizs, I waited 45 minutes w/Wally to return something. It was bad timing I guess.

My mall is usually a ghost town. It's surprising to see people in it now. I think it's because we have a very small anchor store which is Macy's, then Sears and other stores that are lack luster so it's generally totally empty the rest of the year.

Merry Christmas Lizs, and have a Happy New Year!

I had to go out and pickup one more gift and a gift card. No one was out. The stores were basically empty. No lines at the cash register. Sure wish I had just done my shopping today instead of the maddness that was out there yesterday...lol

I ended up buying Christmas decorations, candles, stockings and gift bags at 75% off the lowest marked price.

I had a sad childhood
I was a stupid child. I loved to wrap presents so I got to wrap all the presents EVEN MY OWN. My Mom put my stuff in other boxes but I NEVER PEEKED NOT ONCE!!! Like I said stupid. I've grown out of it. (I'm sure of it.)
