A Most Glorious Day

YEAH!! Yet one more reason to love the mountains. These high places make me more human. They bring rest and the love overflows. All this work, all this effort, all this makes me smile.

Here are some stats:

-8x miles (50% xcountry)
-4x peaks (Memorial Pk., Devils Pk., Mt Mooney, Vetter Mtn.)
1x signed register
10x hours
4x hours of sleep last night
298x photos
Mud, mud, & more mud
Prayers for family and friends
1x PB&J
1x Ham Sandwich
1x Snickers

More to come...

Thanks Streamweaver. Seem to keep hearing that.

Divinity, upon coming on that view from a steady ascent, I laughed and my breath grew short. Goosebumps. It felt like I could do anything when I saw that.

Here's the journal entry:
Stony Ridge

While puting together this installment, it was great to relive the experience. A glass of Blackstone red wine and a small bowl of cashews makes you think through the experience with more depth. Even though it was cold out there, assembling the report brought warmth.

And the fire inside helped!

Peace \o/

You were so lucky to be out there on such a clear day. That's an area I need to explore.

Are the pine trees in that area affected by the Bark Beetle? I see some dying trees in a couple of the pictures.

Muy Bueno!

The Bark Beetle hasn't been a problem from what I've seen so far. Not having hardly any experience in the Gorgonio wilderness, it's tough to know what to look for.

The frightful peril of the Sierra Madre. A beauty tough to find elsewhere. Thousands of feet above the tumultuous Pacific Ocean with lingering storm clouds above.
