“Michael Jackson Becomes Democratic Presidential Candidate In Effort To Keep Himself Out Of Media Spotlight

Popstar Michael Jackson, whose child molestation case has once again made him the center of media attention, decided today upon a surefire means of keeping himself out of the headlines -- running as a Democratic candidate for president.

"These recent allegations have taken a tremendous toll on both me and my family. I need to be doing something where nobody can find me. What better way than campaigning as a Democrat?" Jackson stated at a press conference announcing his candidacy.

Both legal and political analysts hailed Jackson's move as brilliant.

"There is no way anyone will cover him now. He'll vanish from television news and tabloid coverage altogether," said political pundit Fred Barnes.
