However, fewer is better. The Forks will be a subdivision in June. Stay up on the plateau.” 10:29:50 AM 1/29/04 “"Yeah, get it right Tom. Scorchie's a hussy wench and Pottymouth's an evil wench. Jeez, ...!" yea, really. pssh. get it right.” 10:50:13 PM 1/29/04 “Since we don't really hike as a group, everyone just kinda does their own thing, I doubt the 10 limit will matter. In addition to his avid interest in the outdoors and the AT, Phillip Cowall (like dowel) was a great athlete, a terrifically intelligent and funny guy, and he served is country as a graduate from the US Coast Guard Academy. I remember bus trips to and from wrestling tournaments (the time we wanted to take ice cream to states for after weigh ins, and his parents packed it in dry ice so it wouldn’t melt) and football games, weekend nights going to high school dances, or just hanging out-- those ordinary times all guys spend when in high school and college--and Phil’s presence was truly a bright spot in this sometimes cynical and insensitive world. As a tribute to Phil, after his death in a traffic accident in 1997, his parents donated the money for the shelter that bears his name, so other hikers could have a place to be a little warmer and a little safer as they hiked the trail Phil loved so much. I’d hope that when hiking the trail and coming across the ENSPHILLIPCOWALL memorial shelter, perhaps instead of cracking jokes, each person would take a moment to appreciate the shelter and the wilderness as Phil would have done. Ken Farrell” 8:24:28 AM 3/03/04 “Where is this shelter?” 8:29:16 AM 3/03/04 “It is the Hemlock Hill Shelter in Maryland on the AT (in the vicinity of, I believe, MD 17 and I-70)” 8:42:27 AM 3/03/04 “The "new" Hemlock Hill Shelter, I should say.” 8:50:49 AM 3/03/04 “I think that's the one we stopped at for lunch on the 12/20-12/21 trip. That is a very nice shelter!” 8:52:05 AM 3/03/04 “Scorchfire, Sorry to disappoint but i never posted before” 10:38:20 AM 3/03/04 “Well then, heck, I have no clue what I'm talking about,.. yet again.” 12:10:18 PM 3/03/04 Scorchie “Does that mean you're running for president?” 12:46:41 PM 3/03/04 “Don't ask......don't tell” 12:52:33 PM 3/03/04 “I'm not as good as Bush with the 'not knowing what I'm talking about' deal, sorry.. maybe a few years down the road!” 1:34:44 PM 3/03/04 “Scorch, no problem not knowing. You probably thought Landrover was such a good name it had to be used before.” 2:38:51 PM 3/03/04 “No worries Scorchie, twenty years of drinkin' and you too could be as stupid as our fearless leader.” 2:41:27 PM 3/03/04 “LOL at both of you weirdos!” 2:42:13 PM 3/03/04 “By the way Tom Terrific it is good to here your voice.WHOSE OLD.” 2:46:04 PM 3/03/04 Jump to Page << prev
