go ahead and sign up as a maybe nashhiker, that way you'll get the emails that are gonna start soon. We're just getting serious about route planning.

Theres a group limit of 8 and a "trail limit" of 24 (not sure what that really means, but ok). I'm guessing that some of the maybes won't make it, but you never know. I'm sure we'll manage something, just have to act like we're not all together. Usually these group tips don't necessarily hike together anyway.

I'd like to do it. Never hiked in WVA. Never really did anything in WVA except drive through it and now I am only a few hours away being in DC. So it will be fun to do and meet some TTers. So far I have only met two.

nashvillehiker, did you end up in Hyattsville?

Dolly Sods should be a real zoo in June.

The northern parts look good......less traffic.

Roam, just got your package today. I haven't looked at your proposed route in detail but it seems okay. Did you want to do that route over Saturday and Sunday or Fri-Sun? I would still like to dayhike Red Creek on Friday and car camp somewhere that night while we wait on others to arrive. We can setup Goliath (my 10 person tent) to mark our campsite Friday during the day. If we leave a small radio playing in it all day no one will camp near us...eheheh, car camping is so kooool!

As for the route...Plan away Roam! I've seen the Sods before several times. Plus my family owns a camp nearby so it's not a big deal for me to just go when I want. So Roam, you are the official route planner! Since you'll be coming from Fla and wont' get to see it as much...design the route to go where you wanna go.

Ok I'll look at it in more detail then.

Was thinking of a short hike in on Friday night then a more full day Saturday and hiking out on Sunday, try to get back to the trailhead around noonish?

First real trip...
I'd like to make this my first real backpacking trip. I'm a 23 year old college grad with mountains of immaturity and lots of love for fun. If anyone would like to talk with me about being prepared for a first trip, I'd really appreciate it! My email is smitty@insonne.com and my AIM is psmitty7373. Thanks!

Route planning
so are most folks arriving sometime on Friday? I'm assuming that a short hike in of Friday night, hopefully before dark, say 1.5 or 2.0 miles to a campsite will be ok with folks.

MarkO is the TT superman. You can't see MarkO and TomTerrific at the same time, unless you want to be his Lois Lane, Scorch. Preferably a psychotic Margot Kidder version.
