I'm so flippin' bored today....

“I'm the only person at work in my group of 10 people. Few others scattered around the building. I have very little work to keep me occupied, with no immediate deadlines. I wanna go home!

Who else is stuck at work, bored out of their minds??”

“Me. I need to do some stuff though, like get started on the specs for next year's work.”

“That would be me as well. I'm guessing Friday will be worse so I'm trying to pace myself and save some work for then.”

“I'm taking Friday off. I don't think I could stand being here then, and besides, I have stuff to do at home.”

“I think we'll be let go early today. On holiday days like this, they usually annoucne that we're officially closed about 3PM. Although if we do leave early, we have to use vacation to make up the hours, so its not really a treat.


Friday I think I'm going to leave early as well. My boyfriend is having lasic surgery, and needs someone to pick him up still, I think. He hasn't exactly told me the plan yet.”

“I can't believe I didn't. The boss is off until Monday so now it's too late. Unless I call in sick, Mooooowahahahaha!”

“Yeah smiley, we usually get to cut out around 2 or 3 on days like this also. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving the boss made the rounds not long after lunch and kicked everyone out. Good boss, you get a biscuit!”

“We get Friday off, with pay. But about half the staff decided to take the whole holiday season off - for six days of leave you end up with about 16 days vacation, including the weekends. If we'd had the money to go someplace interesting. . . But noone actually expects to get any work done over Christmas and New Years - we just answer the phone and pretend the office is staffed, in case clients call, which they don't because they're on vacation too. It's the calm before the storm. Next week, we'll really be busy.”

“LOL Bit! Yeah, basically. Remember the big northeast power outage? Yeah, my company made people take vacation if they couldn't work. People were pissed.”

“Ginny, that's what cracks me up about this time of year. We're supposed to have enough staff to cover every client, but all our clients are closed. So, why do I have to be here?”

he took me to dinner and a Red Wings game, and bought me my first DVD movie, since I bought myself a DVD player for Christmas. he's also done all the cooking the past two weeks, and in general has been an absolute sweetheart to me. :)”
