Can you post another link? Just copy the addy when you are not editing...LOL!” 5:25:54 PM 2/10/04 “Oh btw....looks like y'all were miserable....how can anyone enjoy camping/living in the snow? ;)” 5:27:28 PM 2/10/04 went out and found them myself....LOL! 7:44:44 PM 2/10/04 “Oh navi - your are so darned sensitive!!! YES I AM! You want to make something of it? Isn't naviguessing fun? Somebody please tell me this trip sucked! I ordered my snow shovel with saw. When's the next trip? March 6th / 7th? Gotta go while there's still some snow.” 8:01:56 PM 2/10/04 I wuz mizabo “This trip sucked beyond belief. March 6-7+ sounds a little too far, but if it's the best you can do, then...... NEW THREAD!” 10:41:20 PM 2/10/04 “I'm sooo glad it sucked! You could have been at home sitting on the couch.” 11:12:02 PM 2/10/04 “It really sounds like Fun. Glad everyone got through it safe and sound. I would have been a wreck had I tried to make it out there. That said... When's the next one?” 1:46:19 AM 2/11/04 “I have to confess that I wouldn't have wanted to stay out overnight. There - I said it. Call me a wimp. But if you go somewhere withing a couple hours drive from Sacto I will come up for the day!! Navi - the trip sucked, of course, because you weren't there!” 9:39:48 AM 2/11/04 Trip Report (part 3) “This is the last one, I promise! We awoke Sunday morning to temps still around 10 below. Everyone had slept (relatively) comfortably despite JVZ's midnight adventure. We spent the day exploring the Woods Lake area, taking pictures and working on home improvements. Jean and Sheila finished the one person snow shelter that Jean had started on Saturday. Other than being a little short, it would have served much better than the tarp for the events of Friday night. The evening's festivities were somewhat subdued compared to Saturday, although Sheila and I did share a bottle of Sake that she had brought. Hot Sake in cold weather, a great combination. Sunday morning dawned gray and frosty but much warmer (+15) than the previous nights. The group rallied surprisingly early and began preparing for our departure. The day cleared but was still slightly breezy and cool, making for perfect snowshoeing/skiing weather. We were able to travel at a brisk sustained pace without becoming overheated. The trip out took slightly more than an hour including several photo ops. We loaded the cars and headed downhill, stopping for pizza and beer to slow the recompression a little. We had a great trip and some memorable adventures, expanding our knowledge and experience. Wish more of you had been able to make this one. My apologies for the long report, there was just so much to tell.” 11:39:16 AM 2/11/04 "Why wouldn't someone love this?" “That's the question we asked the whole weekend. Are we who love being out in the cold for days just sick sick people? What's not to love about camping in below zero deg weather? What's not to love about sleeping under a tarp which feels like it could fly off at any moment with 35 mile an hour gusts of wind? Why wouldn't anyone love playing in the snow and building anything until their heart's content? Why wouldn't anyone love getting alot of "fun" exercise for 4 days instead of going to the gym? Why wouldn't anyone love sitting around in an awsome igloo built by a wonderfully gifted and fun person like trailbum? Why wouldn't anyone love sitting in an igloo shooting the breeze and passing around the hot sake? Who wouldn't love the ultra blue sky with bright white snow sparkling in the sun? Who wouldn't love gazing up at a beautiful night sky to see a million bright stars in total silence? Why wouldn't anyone love being out there feeling like you're part of nature? And last but not least. Why wouldn't anyone love seeing jvz get tipsy and falling in the snow? When's the next trip, March 6,7th? Don't know if I could get the time off. I'll miss Navi again? Great report and pics trailbum and jvz! Mine will be up whenever I get them developed and scanned. Too bad pepper, songbyrd, and Randy couldn't stay longer.” 12:13:38 PM 2/11/04 “Minus 10 - 15 degrees? Whoa. Trekking around in thermals at night? JVZ, tell me they are lying! I like the creek pictures and the uphill shadow. And my feet are cold sitting here reading the trip report. Maybe next time.” 12:42:19 PM 2/12/04 Sad to say: “wannabp it was supposed to be a quick trip to the can but my faltering brain cells led me astray. Lesson learned very cheap. That won't happen again. Great trip reports Trailbum and hikerchic(like your style of writing). Remember though..This trip really sucked. Can't wait to be with Navi some time in these horrible, inhumane conditions. Oh yea. Go back to my pics I'm gonna edit in a picture of a polar bear in snow and rocks formation on the Woods Lake mountainside.” 4:02:48 PM 2/13/04 Trailbum “Can you mail me your site info again. Good shot of "Sheila emerging". The reality series continues. Thanks for the merit badge.” 4:25:04 PM 2/13/04
