USA in May
I'm a Brit who's never been to the states . . . but me & some friends are thinking of a wilderness trek in late April/ early May. We have just a week, unfortunately. Any recommendations where to go? Appalachias are poss -- what is the best one-week section? Any areas where we can get high up and not mud season round then?

If you're going to make a British troll at least use British spellings and lingo!

If you want to avoid mud and do the Appalachians, the Smokies might be your best bet if you're close by.

Grand Canyon, it doesn't disappoint.

If I would live in Europe and I would get a change to visit the US, shoot...anything on the west coast: grand canyon, colorado, mt. rainer.

Those are some of the places that are on my list if I ever make it on the west coast.

Smokies in the spring? I would say some place SouthWest. Check out the canyonland.

Also I might suggest the Grand Canyon. If you are not going to be in the States much in your life, you might as well see the best.

Thx for that -- probably Grand Canyon then. BTW, I'm hoping for lots of woman interest, having seen Love Actually.
