In a speech to logging lobbyists, pro-pollution lobbyists, and the coalition of Scientists for Global Warming; President Bush outlined his new "Tree for a Soldier" Initiative. The plan calls cutting all taxes on logging, except for $1.00 per log. The money would be used to build barracks for soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, possibly Iran, Syria or Venezuala, and maybe Cuba or Chili too. The woman standing next to the tree was shipped to Iraq, and was housed in a military hospital after sustaining wounds which would have been prevented if she had full body armor. The hospital used wood from that very tree in the photo. The branches from the tree may have made the paper that was mailed to her with her huge medical bill for the surgery. Bush said he thought of the new initiative "all by myself."

I have heard although it might not be entirely true

that when Ronald Reagan was governor of California, he supposedly said:

"Well, if you've seen one redwood tree, you've seen 'em all. Lets cut them all but one."

Here we see President Bush using the Republican salute after delivering a speech on his latest forest initiative: "Logging Concentration Camps". According to Bush, "these patriotic camps will be used to round up as many trees as possible, cut em' down, and then either burn them or put them to work rebuilding Trent Lott's house in Louisiana." Halliburton won the no-bid contract to build the camps and will get a 2 billion grant from the government, plus all the tax free proceeds from selling the end product.
