Okay.
Spring break: March 6-14.

Would like to hike full days on the 8, 9, 10, and 11th.

Willing to go 24 hours drive from PA.

Keep in mind, I don't have too much winter gear.. no crampons, snowshoes, etc. I'd like to go somewhere that isn't TOO cold and somewhere that isn't TOO strenuous (keep in mind, I'm relatively new to backpacking).

SO HELP!

March 14 is my birthday...that's the day I become old like you. Come visit me.

Rule out: Pennsylvania and anything above it, Georgia, NJ, and MD.

I have a nice walking trail behind my house. It is paved and goes in a circle through the woods...you could setup your tent and go bushwhacking! I'd make dinner.

It's down to...

smokies might be cold, especially in higher elevations, but on lower elevation tails, temps should be more mild than cold in early to mid march.

still a chance of snow storms though.

Buffalo River & Ozark Highlands Trails
Don't rule out northern Arkansas and the Buffalo River Trail and the Ozark Highlands Trail.

Many trail opportunities and usually mild weather.

Pick up Stikmon and Khatru on your way over.

nah, no snowshoes in the smokies. Some folks claim crampons are useful, and I guess they are in certain places but I've never used them (don't own any) if you want to be more assured of milder temps and an even less chance of snow and ice stay on lower elevation. I can take a look at my stuff and help find a good 4 day trip that'll put you on some waterfalls and other cool stuff but stay off the peaks - at least stay off them overnight.

I'm thinking what Owl suggested (Buffalo River & Ozark Highlands Trails) or Ocala, FL for the scenery.

Smokies are gonna be freezing on the high peaks and I'd rather wait til the summer when I can do them.

Big South Fork NRRA. Angel Falls Overlook to Grand Gap Loop to John Muir Trail to Station Camp Creek Trail (via short distance on Laurel Fork Trail), past Charit Creek Lodge, then exit through Twin Arches Loop. Requires shuttle.

I've been to South Park, CO. It's not too far from the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it sized town but they do have a good Mexican cafe and a couple of junky gift stores with loads of South Park (the show) stuff. There's a giant Kenny over the door.
