Paulaner Hefe-Weizen
brewed in Munich, it's a wheat beer, which I normally like. But this one is way toooo bitter and kinda dry. It's just bad.

I have 5 more in the fridge; if anyone wants to try one, come on by.

Mmmmmmmmmm...Beer!
Wheat beers taste funny to me too. Them and Belgian ales.

I just got done swilling an Elliot Ness amber ale, born and bred in Cleveland, Ohio.

local brews are often the best.

I've never met an amber ale that i didn't like!

Keep drinking, Roam! The sixth should be spectacular, but only if you drink it tonight...

I felt the same way about Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Wasn't so sure about it when I drank the first one, but I like it now.

yup, it's the yeast. Wheat beer and Belgian style yeast strains produce a LOT more fruity esters and phenols than other ales giving those beers that distinctive twang. Most folks pick up on banana (ester) and clove (phenol) tastes. In addition, these yeast strains are poor flocculators so a lot of the yeast stays in solution giving the beer that hazy look.

Put some lemon in it. Wheat beer is goooood w/ a squeeze of lemon.

Love the Irish brews.

Hey can any of you Canucks get Smithwicks up there??

Worst beer that I can remember was some hot jalopena(sp) flavored brew.

Anybody every remember a Lounge Lizard beer or something along those lines?

Hey, I'm about to brew a replica of that beer!

NOTHING beats beer that you made yourself. Homebrewing is pretty easy, and very rewarding.

Homebrewing is FUN! I've tried it a few times, and generally had good results. I just had a hard time being patient and waiting for it to age in the bottles.

If it was brewed in Munich, it is not the worst beer in the world.

The worst #&%!$ in the world is brewed right here in good ole' USA.

Stag.

In undergraduate school, we were coming back from a bp trip and were broke. We had just enough for some gas and a $2.16 six pack of Stag.

There were three of us. Three of the damn things got opened and tossed. The other three remained in our dorm room as a shrine to really $hitty beer the remainder of the year. Even when we were desparate, we wouldn't drink that stuff.

Wow, that's bad. I remember the summer I spent in Kansas, the cheapest beer there was Olympia. I can't remember if we ever bought any, but if memory serves, the stuff was around $5 for a case. Hell we probably did buy it.

As far as the worst beer I ever had, well, that would probably be Old Milwaukee or some swill like that. But we used to buy a six of good beer, and 3 sixes of cheap beer, and drink the good stuff first...
