Huh? You have to get a little south from Ithaca before you get into the Susquehana watershed. Around Ithaca the water flows into Cayuga then north out through the Erie canal and into Lake Ontario.

There's a reason the Cayuga Inlet is on the Ithaca end and not the other... :)”

“Shep, those specifics haven't been worked on yet. Being 4 months away, I hadn't posted any of that. Rather, I have been trying to put it in perspective in terms of proximity and also locations within the entire Finger Lakes region to see what day trips are doable.”

Remember to just keep taking left hand turns.”

“Shep, forget the part that tells you to get off I-81 for the Pa Turnpike. Stay on I-81. It's the direct route to Scranton. The Turnpike route is a dog leg and there are tolls for the Turnpike. There are no tolls for 81.

I-77 is pretty much what I was thinking. That and I-81 should do it for you, and probably save a half hour or more over the route you mentioned.

Dang, I can't imagine why they'd tell you to get off I-81 and then get back on. Doh! Unless there is a construction issue.”
