How much wood would you bring, if you will?

Would you have me believe that a Tree has no wood?

My wood has been petrified lately. I'm scared to show anyone how much wood I have for this trip. I burn my wood with petroleum and it goes up in flames instantly. Soft wood doesn't last as long as hard wood. Hard wood also better for "wood working". sometimes, if you wood lays around too long it will end up getting punky.

petrified wood? hmmmm that means really hard, right?

Dang, I wish I were closer and could go on this trip with all of you. Sounds like a lot of fun. I do have experience w/ cooking over wood.

OK Tree I will come back to the normal view of life :-)

Here is a question for you. and mark-o too

We where talking about pizza a few thousand posts ago, are we going to do pizza say Friday night?

A few of the places I called sez to call it in early and they will have it all ready for us! delivery too if the order is large enough....

Don't count on me for the pizza thing. I will be pretty well stocked for food. Besides, they may just have that Domino's sh_t or some redneck version of what pizza is supposed to be!
Treebeard

That would make things easier, and we could spend time jaw-bonin' instead of actually workin' on food preparation.

I know I don't plan on pizza for Friday, but I also plan on stopping for dinner on my way out to Ithaca.

lumb sounds good, I did a search in ithaca for pizza and there is a dozen or so pizza joints, this is a college town so pizza is big, a few sounded purdy good. we could just figure it out when we get there who wants pizza and who doesn't and if needed I will run to town and pick it up.....

so mark-o, Linus? (son's name) and I are prolly in for pizza Friday

LZ, homemade sounds good. As long as it isn't that corporate crap!

Snafu, college kids would eat ketchup spread out of a graham cracker with a torn up piece of American cheese on it, sprinkled with a few rat turds under the guise of being a sausage topping and call it delicious pizza. Don't you know that?
Treebeard
2:21:12 PM

Alright, wise guy.

What's your suggestion?
MarkO

The best pizza joints are run by the Mafia. They should register La Cosa Nostra as a brand name.

Mmm......pizza.....

There's also a cool deli in Ithaca right on Seneca St (I'm looking at the Flyer -- Shortstop Deli). Killer sandwiches (or hoagies -- depending on which side of the border you live on...)

BTW, looks like I'll be getting there late on Thursday -- either evening or night. I'll be coming from my father's near Monticello, so figure about a 3-hour drive...

I guess I should start thinking about car-camping mode here. So many more options for lugging along stuff...

What kind of facilities do the campsites themselves provide? Does the campsite come with a picnic table, or should I consider bringing like a fold-away table?

Mountaindale, actually -- but I usually refer to either Monticello or Ellenville as they're the closest "real" towns around. We go up to Liberty to get late night grub every now and then when I'm up there, as Liberty is kinda the last "truck stop" before another 80 miles to Binghamton...

We used to live in Mountaindale when we first moved here. Beautiful ballpark, no team. I live in Liberty and teach in Ellenville so I know the area well. Look forward to meeting everyone on this trip.
