What ya want everything to go silky smooth? What fun would that be? Life needs diversity to make it interesting. I'm used to that so I make the best of it. You improvise, adapt & overcome.

OK M.O.
I will meet ya half way!
No rain or bad weather, but we need a few puking drunks (me prolly being one of them),
a few nekkid babes (including scorchy, ill be introuble for that one)
some wicked cool hiking blisters, A bad hair cut,

Last year my leather safari hat fell onto a candle and caught on fire.
Geobeet

6/23/04

GEO....
Thank goodness it was not your phillies hat that would of been devasting!!!

I've melted a few boot soles over the years. Sitting too close to the fire, kicking stuff in the fire, stomping the fire, running thru the fire.
Good thing I got a spare pair!
snafu29
12:52:05 PM
6/23/04

I had left the hat on the picnic table. Somebody lit a candle and in the course of the evening the hat slipped from where it had been moved to and fell over onto the candle.

6/23/04

Ah, dang it! Do I have to cook? I was planning on just mooching off everyone else.

Actually, I'm a pretty good cook at home. I just haven't honed my skills with a pepsi can stove yet. I'm pretty impressed with myself if I just don't go hungry when on the trail.

Where do I have to look to find the contest rules? Can I make a fabo dessert here at home and bring it?
Ruby

6/23/04

It's the cookoff on Saturday evening, and you can enter if you wish or not if you wish. It's okay to prepare a dessert at home and bring it, I suppose, but treebeard is the final authority since he won last year (he cheated).
Geobeet
2:57:35 PM
6/23/04

Yes, a pre-prepared dessert is just fine, says the almighty cheatin' mofo! Ruby, good to have you along. There is a thread about the cook-off buried about half way down the main page, if you so desire. Next week, there will be one more thread added for this trip. Yes, Scorchy, ONE MORE DREADED THREAD! The subject will be possible itineraries for day hikes.
