I get confused enough with one... I hope I have not created havoc. JC” 1:39:41 PM 7/01/04 “don't worry - havoc is what these people thrive upon.” 2:05:30 PM 7/01/04 “Jeeeeeeeeeeeeezus Outback Jack Canine, Get over to the cook off thread. LOL j/k” 2:11:28 PM 7/01/04 Hey Tree “For those peeps staying on sites I have reserved, I am attaching the information they may need to get in. I don't know if you want to add this to the trip page. Site 52 Reservation ID# 2.27159NY Site 38 Reservation ID# 2.27125NY Site 41 Reservation ID# 1.1422369NY All sites are under my name Brian Beanblossom 10 days and counting!” 8:04:06 AM 7/06/04 “I don't know if all NY state campgrounds work the same, but when we were at the Devil's Tombstone CG, the rangers wouldn't allow anyone onto the sites until the person(s) who registered for the sites showed up.” 8:11:36 AM 7/06/04 “We'll make 'em an offer they can't refuse, Pennsy! WK, it's posted. When do you think you will arrive?” 8:13:52 AM 7/06/04 “I will be departing Chicago around 7AM Thursday or so. I want to say, Map Quest said it should take like 9.5 hours, so I should be there in about 8. No later than 4PM I would think.” 8:16:58 AM 7/06/04 “Got any sites under the name MarkO The Malodorous?” 8:19:09 AM 7/06/04 “Ok, but you will be there on Thursday. Meaning that, even if what pennsy says is true, the sites will be available at least later in the day when you get there...” 8:25:37 AM 7/06/04 “"I don't know if all NY state campgrounds work the same, but when we were at the Devil's Tombstone CG, the rangers wouldn't allow anyone onto the sites until the person(s) who registered for the sites showed up." Pennsy 08:11:36 AM This may pose a problem for Bobo and Snafu who are staying on my site #61, as I may not be getting in until 8pm on Friday” 8:28:48 AM 7/06/04 “"I don't know if all NY state campgrounds work the same, but when we were at the Devil's Tombstone CG, the rangers wouldn't allow anyone onto the sites until the person(s) who registered for the sites showed up." I only hit submit once” 8:29:22 AM 7/06/04 “That is correct Tree” 8:30:45 AM 7/06/04 “Also, when I showed up to get my site, they required the names of the others who would be on my site. This could be just the way these guys run Devil's Tombstone, because these guys were interesting characters. They were brothers and I bet their names were Daryl and Daryl. I'll post my reservation numbers tonight just in case.” 8:32:19 AM 7/06/04 “May be a good idea, Penns. I really don't know what the rules are there.” 8:34:02 AM 7/06/04 “Penns, did you get the book?” 8:34:30 AM 7/06/04 “As long as we can drink!” 8:35:05 AM 7/06/04 “And drink ye shall!!!” 8:41:21 AM 7/06/04 “TB, I got the book last week. I posted it on the Pennsy thread. Thanks!” 8:52:10 AM 7/06/04 “I have #13 on loop 2 and I'll be arriving the afternoon of the 16th, if that helps.” 9:08:55 AM 7/06/04 my sites rez numbers “site 42 res ID# 1.1431756NY site 45 res ID# 1.1439496NY Site 42 is for myself and Pete. Site 45 is for MarkO. You can't check in until 3pm, and I'm reasonably sure I'll be there by then to take the sites.” 10:00:17 PM 7/06/04 “wish i could be there. :( sucks big time.” 10:15:44 PM 7/06/04 “Who's going to kidnap Gemini and bring her to Ithaca?” 10:50:27 PM 7/06/04 “i can kidnap her...wait i don tknow....hell i dont even know which direction i got to go in to get outta the southeast...if my calculations are correct i should hit 75 south and drive until i hit the canadian border right?” 11:38:49 PM 7/06/04 “Shep, please kidnap Gemini. Thanks, Pennsy!!!” 7:30:20 AM 7/07/04 “SHep, I don't suspect that 75 south will take you anywhere but Tampa. Go north, my friend. And bring your brother, the heavy drinker, if you like. Just tell him to bring some liquor and NO FIGHTING! We're happy drunks here!” 8:04:24 AM 7/07/04 “Slap happy and sodden.” 8:06:52 AM 7/07/04 “Tango will send fighters off for two minutes in the penalty box, and if it happens again, a five-minute major. After that, game misconduct and match penalty! And don't even try arguing with the ref!” 8:40:32 AM 7/07/04 “Only clean checks are acceptable.” 8:48:55 AM 7/07/04 “Yeah, that way I can fill in any dollar amount I want.” 9:00:29 AM 7/07/04 The Final Necessities Of Organization! “By that, I mean, directions for the mystified! Ok, my friends. We are in the final stretch. After all this planning and banter, the Ithaca trip is just about at the top of the trips page! I will lay out some of the main arteries that I found from the differing directions that people are coming from. From the North and upstate New York: Gremil, 401 across the border of Canada looks good and you can take that to 81 south to rte 13 to ithaca. LZ, Snafu and upstaters, can take 87 to 90 west to 34 south. Or 90 west to 20 across to 34 south and into Ithaca. One more alternative, 90 west to rt 5 ( i believe they interchange) to 34 south. FROM THE SOUTH: If you are coming in via 95 north, work your way up to 81 north. 81 is a good through road for those coming from that direction. you can use 80 to 380 to 81, or if you are coming from further south, hold off a few and i will look for any connectors that willl get you closer to 81 from 95 a little south of the map i am looking at. I will post again later as this (and those coming from the west) is incomplete!” 9:01:13 AM 7/08/04 From the south “Take I-95 to I-476. Take I-476 north to Scranton. Take I-81 north from Scranton. North of Binghamton, take Route 13 west to Ithaca.” 9:14:52 AM 7/08/04 “I'm on I-81 all the way baybee!” 9:33:04 AM 7/08/04 from the south “Sure wish I could attend. But Mapquest says that Ithaca is 1230.66 miles from Melbourne! From Knoxville, TN, it says 765.23 miles. That's a little tempting. Will Mapleleaf recover before the trip? I hope so.” 9:35:47 AM 7/08/04 “Correction to my directions: From I-81, take Exit 8. Turn right onto NY26. Stay straight to go onto NY79/US11. Continue to follow NY79 west to Ithaca. This takes you to the center of Ithaca. Robert H. Treman State Park is southwest of Ithaca on Route 13, so take NY13 south or west from center of Ithaca.” 9:44:39 AM 7/08/04 “"Will Mapleleaf recover before the trip? I hope so." What the hell have you done with mapleleef, mister? Some of you southerners with want to get a holt of I-81 by way of I-95 north to the Baltimore Beltway(I-695) to I-83 north to I-81 north. Blue 81 Hut one Hut two” 9:56:19 AM 7/08/04 “Another alternate route from Eastern Upstate NY is to take 1-88 to Binghamton. Take route 17 to Owego and take route 96 (Ithaca Road) to Ithaca. It takes about the same time as the I-90 Route (actually it's a few minutes quicker) and no toll roads.” 10:05:09 AM 7/08/04 “Thanks for filling in the gaps, guys! The info here should just about take care of all involved. I will probably be coming up via 17 and then north from near Binghampton.” 10:35:12 AM 7/08/04 MarkO 10:35:38 AM 7/08/04 “Hmmmm, I see. mapleleef, yo can puke all you want in Treebeard's gumbo.” 10:40:26 AM 7/08/04 10:45:15 AM 7/08/04 “Don't ask me why I just re-pasted that. Happens when you do two things at once!” 10:46:14 AM 7/08/04 “Two things? Pickin' and flickin'?” 10:52:07 AM 7/08/04 “lumberzac's route from Binghamton looks better than the one I posted. From I-81, do what zac says.” 10:53:01 AM 7/08/04 “It does look like a good route. I think 17 is the best for us downstaters, also...” 10:54:53 AM 7/08/04 “Yes, it avoids getting caught in beautiful downtown Ithaca.” 10:56:14 AM 7/08/04 “Wow, I'll get to meet lumberzac and Gremlin in non-Freeze Your Ass Off mode.” 11:03:41 AM 7/08/04 “And non muck mode as well.” 11:04:36 AM 7/08/04 “Usually all we FYAO'ers see of each other is little more than the nose.......kinda like we're wearin' burkas.” 11:08:16 AM 7/08/04 Jump to Page << prev
