“I wouldn't worry too much about the weather. Typical Upstate NY weather in July is 80s during the day, sometimes humid, other times not. If it's very humid, it can spawn passing late-afternoon thunderstorms, but they usually just come and go in minutes and then it's all sunny again. I don't think we have to worry about monsoon-style rainstorms ruining the entire weekend.

At night the temp almost always cools down into the 60s or maybe even lower -- so do bring some long pants and longsleeved shirts -- after all, it is car-camping.”

“yall want anything from down south while im heading up that way?? maybe something you picked up once on the way through and havent been able to find up in yankeeville...”

“I'm leaving sometime Thursday morning for Ithaca. If anyone living in NJ, eastern PA, or southern NY needs a ride, let me know. Maybe we can work out a hook up. Don't stay home because you have no wheels......”

“NJ, I just e mailed Phantom Soul about Scott(Stormbringer). He's off the AT for now and up in Pa at a friend of Maple's house. He wants to go to Ithaca and I just e mailed PS about it. He may wind up over here with us before Thursday, but I have no room for him. If one of you can get him, that would be great. I have no idea which of you is closer. I will wait to hear from you guys when you post. Thanks, NJ!”

“Where in PA is he? I'll have room, if he's anywhere near I 81 or can get there, no problem!”

“Tree, as per my email, I'll be at my dad's Upstate near Monticello. If you can get him out on the trail at DWG either Tuesday or Wednesday (I guess his preference), I could pick him up at High Point (about 40 relatively easy trail miles from DWG) late Thursday afternoon.”

“Roam, so you decided to drive to NY? You just keep breaking your own records for most distance driven for shortest amount of time, don't you?”

“Or you could just stay on 95/NJ Turnpike and swing by Staten Island and pick him up. Good luck with the traffic though...”

“yeah I'm driving, but just from NC not FL. NO WAY would I drive all they way up there from FL!”
