“MY COMPUTER HAS SLOWED DOWN SO BAD IT SUCKS.It takes about 4 minutes for it to boot up and it can take 30 secs just to close a damn window.Sometimes when i try to close multiple windows it just stalls out and doesnt do anything-then i just damn unplug it and restart.O ya panic ware sucks shid-it allows the stupid banner to appear and then lets you know for the next 20 secs that it is eliminating it.I can just x out the banner myself and much faster.I also get banner crap in my favorites window-yhaoo etc...”

“check out the spyware thread...you may have a lot of spyware on your computer that is slowing it down. Some of the people here have reported performance improvements from downloading Ad-aware and Spybot (I think that's it) and eliminating all the extra crap running on their computers.”

“When I worked at MicroCenter we had what is "destruct units." They were customer computers that they didn't pick up for 90 or more days (and usually unpaid for). So after 90 days we'd remove the components we replaced (our property) and send them a certified letter indicating that if they don't pick it up within 30 days we would "destroy" their computer. And we did...

Legally we could take any of their parts or leave a computer salvageable. So I had the pleasure of smashing brand new $2-3 computers, laptops, printers, and monitors with a big sledgehammer. It was awesome. Laptops were my favorite. It was like getting back at Bill Gates.”

“I agree that you should check for spyware. I find it all the time on our home computer from stuff my sons download. Kazaa also bogged it down.”
