Granite Mountain, Sierra Madre ( photos )

“Today it was a loop trip of several miles to Rabbit Peak, Granite Mountain, and Rountop Peak. This outing was h a r d.

Both thighs and one calve was cramping up half way through the route!

“The 'Bogy' flick was filmed in the San Gabriel Mtns just north of Pasadena. The small town thats there today was named 'Sierra Madre' because thats about the area where the film was made.”

Not sure about the Bogart movie. I've never seen a movie of his. Just heard about him. How uncultured of me. Now I'm gonna have to rent it. 8)

Town Dawg- er, no. Heard about that peak. This timid version of Rabbit Peak was one among several peaks along the Monte Cristo Loop. If it's any consolation, an Everest veteran registered earlier in the year. This guy knew Rob Hall.

Anywho, FWIW, that peak was tough to get up. It was super-duper steep.”
