“Today it was a loop trip of several miles to Rabbit Peak, Granite Mountain, and Rountop Peak. This outing was h a r d. Both thighs and one calve was cramping up half way through the route! More to come when I get the journal entry uploaded. Here are a couple of photos that might make it into the entry. ![]() ”12:27:09 AM 1/12/04 “ohh wow! great photo! is that where they filmed the Bogart movie? Don't need no stinking bages....” 7:51:44 AM 1/12/04 “That wouldn't be Rabbit Peak south of Palm Springs, would it? Holy #&%!$!! That's pure suicide for a day hike.” 10:31:22 PM 1/12/04 “Whew baby! Gorgeous! But not a great place to hike with your bootlaces untied. YOWCH!” 10:33:10 PM 1/12/04 "Here Lookin at you, Mapleleaf" “The 'Bogy' flick was filmed in the San Gabriel Mtns just north of Pasadena. The small town thats there today was named 'Sierra Madre' because thats about the area where the film was made.” 10:33:38 PM 1/12/04 “Switched computers. I'm back. Went wireless broadband and the Universe has returned to order again. Working on that journal entry listening to Nickelback. Yes, it's way too loud. Not sure about the Bogart movie. I've never seen a movie of his. Just heard about him. How uncultured of me. Now I'm gonna have to rent it. 8) Town Dawg- er, no. Heard about that peak. This timid version of Rabbit Peak was one among several peaks along the Monte Cristo Loop. If it's any consolation, an Everest veteran registered earlier in the year. This guy knew Rob Hall. Anywho, FWIW, that peak was tough to get up. It was super-duper steep.” 12:11:39 AM 1/13/04 “Why did I just call you Town Dawg? You're top dawg. Far too many dawgs.” 12:14:23 AM 1/13/04 “Nice views pickle breath 8)” 12:43:10 AM 1/13/04 “those pics are pretty awsome.” 6:42:45 AM 1/13/04
