“There is a Bandelier trip coming up and people have been talking about it. That gave me an itch to upload some old photos of Bandelier. Yapashi Pueblo is from a backcounty trip in July 1982, the rest from assorted trips to Frijoles Canyon. I need to make a trip back, these prints were very faded. ” 7:48:03 AM 1/12/04 ?! 7:48:38 AM 1/12/04 “Nice photos. I see that Yapashi was still standing back then. Not filled in. Hope more sign on for the trip. Hope you can make it Path.” 7:52:10 AM 1/12/04 “I loved the hike up the main canyon, past the pueblos carved into the rock (kinda like cliff dwellings, but slightly different)... and I loved the climb up the rickety ladder (or was it ladderS??!) to the room way up on the one cliff. Was it some kind of kiva or temple? Can't remember offhand now.” 7:55:28 AM 1/12/04 “Very cool Photos! It's a beautiful place.” 8:26:12 AM 1/12/04 “Round House? I forget the name of the part that is a mile or so up from the visitor center. Most of the cliff places are houses with some small kivas maybe. The bigger kivas are in Frijoles Canyon. One really cool part about hiking the backcountry are the trails. Some are distinct deep foot paths worn into the rock. Visitors Map We went in at Juniper Campground.” 9:40:29 AM 1/12/04 “Lizs....cerimonial cave is the name. Anybody interested in a trip to bandelier...i'm going there mar. 14-20th...I have it listed as Bandelier or bust on the trips page.” 9:47:56 AM 1/12/04
