Yes, I am, I admit it.
Well, I learned something today, whoo hoo. The person who compared me to bacpac was trying to call me mean for tormenting a troll. Now, only one million more subtle clues to pick up on, and then I'll know what everyone is saying when I read their posts. Good thing I have no life outside of backpacking, planning backpacks, talking about bp-ing, posting trip reports, replying to the replies of my original reply to someone's post, etc. I'll probably be divorced by then, but hey, at least I have my priorities straight! LOL. What a great bunch of characters here. I feel like I'm watching "...Mad, mad mad mad world".

If I am a troll, then I am diabolically clever! Just think, I spent two years posting 85 trip reports at wta.org, posted over 1,000 times at nwhikers.net, wrote and submitted an article here that was published, and faked pictures of myself for several hiking websites, including the members pictures page at the "other" site, just to fool some folks here! Bwahahahhaaha! My plan is succeeding, soon the whole world will believe I am really Slugman, The World's Slowest Hiker! Too bad there's no money in it! StoveStomper, thanks for the welcome. I'm going to like it here, methinks.

Neo-con? NEO-CON? Over my dead body! I am a radical moderate who despises the politics of neo-cons, but I don't hate them personally, and will be polite to them on all hiking-related threads. Peace!

Well, if conservatives actually ever conserved anything, like our environment or budget surplusses, then I would use that term. Neo-cons seem more like people who throw Molitov coctails on a bonfire. But I'm sure many are good people at heart, so I won't hold their beliefs against them, unless of course they worship Satan, I mean Rush "liar, criminal, drug addict, child-abuser, false accuser, egotist" Limbaugh! Then it's go time, baby! LOL

A radical moderate is me, slugman. No one else is allowed! LOL.
Seriously now: When people think of moderates, they think of easy-going people with no strong opinions. I truly despise the dirty tricks and backstabbing and freedom-hating of neo-cons. I think that Bush has committed more than enough offences against America to deserve impeachment, but what Republican would vote for it? He could be caught procuring children for Michael Jackson and still be okey-dokey with neo-cons. However, I am not a liberal because I refuse to toe the line on their agenda, either. I believe that the second amendment really does confer the individual a right to bear arms, and I despise Democrats who sink to the same level as Republicans. Example: Jim McDermott's stating that Saddam's capture was potically timed. Maybe it was, I wouldn't put it past the shrub, but where's the evidence? And to say something like that without evidence is to bring disgrace to the Democratic party. I often feel politics is like having to choose between well-meaning people who are money wasters and screw up all the time (Democrats), and mean-spirited people who secretly worship Hitler (Republicans). So I am a radical moderate. Now that Republicans are money-wasters too, the last reason to like one is gone. John McCain is the only decent Republican I can name. If we had Democrats in control of both houses of Congress, I would vote for McCain for President. These political views make me spectacularly unpopular with both parties, so i say, "A pox on BOTH your houses!". (sorry, billy boy).

Sorry to drag you into this thread, bacpac. I was just illustrating a point, that comparing a newbie to a long-time member is lost on the newbie. In the current troll thread, someone said I was hatin' on the suspected troll. They then said "bacpac has found a friend", and I had no clue what that meant. Then in another post, someone refered to bacpac as a frequently-mean person, so then I got the reference. I have NO IDEA AT ALL if they have characterized you fairly or not, or even if they were kidding or not. Perhaps they were teasing you because you're always so nice, I don't know. That was my point.

Name one offence? How about lying with every word out of his mouth since the day he took office? How about ordering his advisors to give him cooked data on Iraq, then when caught in his lie, simply blaming those advisors? How about starting a war of agression under completely false pretenses? Or how about when he said, and I quote, "The majority of the tax cuts to those at the bottom", when the top 10% of Americans got over 50%? Isn't lying to the American people what got Clinton into so much trouble? Neo-cons believe there is only one element to character, that is "how conservative are you". Like Ann "satan" Coulter saying Joseph McCarthy was a fine and dandy American. Sheesh.

bacpac, that was in the "I am not a troll thread". Then it was mentioned again in "typical trail talk day". I assure you I had no intention of slamming you in any way. My sincere appologies for using you as an example in this way.

Director of the CIA has publicly refuted your claims of Bush manipulating intelligence. Good luck finding a credible source to substantiate your claim.

Please provide a source that rich Americans recieved a 50% tax break. It never happened.

Ann Coulter? McCarthy???

Again, name one impeachable offense.

Please don't drag unrelated people, some of whom are dead, into this discussion.

Name one impeachable offense that actually occured. Not something you think may have occured.

OK, back from the (clean) park. Now where were we? Oh, yeah the shrub being a born liar.
#1, my comments on Ann "satan" Coulter were part of a too-sudden topic change. I was refering to neo-cons' confusing conservatism with character, not the shrub's being a pathological liar. Sorry for the confusion.
Now, if I was a stooge for the DNC, would I have slammed Jim McDermott? I don't think so. Let's try to keep the bias claims to planet earth, shall we? Besides, the DNC would ban me for my gun stance alone.
Now, as far as Bush massaging data to match his agenda, this has been proven on so many occasions that I won't live long enough to document them all, even if I was so inclined. I read the Seattle Times, a paper owned and micro-managed by a union-busting Nazi named Frank Blethen. There is no possibilty of a "liberal media bias" existing in der furher's paper, believe me. So when they publish stories, albeit buried on the back page, about how non-partisan groups conclude that shrub uses phony advice to cover his lies to America, I believe it, and I know the truth is probably much worse. (this was just this week). And maybe you've heard of Paul O'Neil? He said much the same thing, and neo-cons loved him not too long ago. But, he refused to knuckle under to lies, so out he goes! After I post this, I will look up the recent article about data massaging related to the war. He has also massaged other data, relating to global warming, mercury poisoning, ANWR, everything, really. It's not my fault that he lies so much, I can't keep track of them all!

Anyway, the point of this thread was to discuss the problem new members have decoding all the banter. I do not suggest that anyone change anything they do, just that if a comment is intended for said newbie, and the commenter wants the newbie to understand it, then a little explanatory comment would help. Since the neo-cons are so desirous that I make a post detailing some of the shrub's worst transgressions, I'll get right on it for them. But that kind of thing takes a little time, since they want sources quoted and all. I do not consume myself with politics constantly, just occasionally. I mostly like to talk about hiking and bp-ing. One thing I won't do is to constantly bring up someone's politics in non-political threads. I am willing to be friendly and respectfull to EVERY member here. But may I ask a question? What is the all-consuming passion for "troll-hunts" all about? Just asking so that I can understand, not making any point about it. Thanks, all.
