“The cold weather gear is on sale now at REI, at least it was a week ago. I don't need to do this but if I had money to spend this time of year I would look at my core cold weather insulation and look for ways to stay warmer for less weight. I have a system I am happy with now but that is an area that can get costly. Won't help much with the pending warm weather but come next winter you'll be glad you have the stuff.

I am playing with packing warm layers and a lighter sleeping bag in winter and then sleeping in my insulation (why pack all that insulation for cold weather and then not use it at night?) Always looking for ways to shed weight I guess...”
