To deskunk it. Someday I'm going to buy some Sam Adams Triple Bock to try. If I can find it that is.” 10:26:43 AM 12/18/06 ““I've found that Corona needs the lime added or it tastes like ass.” Even then it tastes like ass with a lime jammed in it.” 10:27:33 AM 12/18/06 “Not to change the subject, but has anyone heard about Budweiser putting out a gluten free beer? If they are producing it, does anyone know when to expect seeing it in stores? I’d like to get some for my dad who has Celiac Disease; so right now the closest he can get to dinking a beer is having hard cider.” 10:39:22 AM 12/18/06 “I read about this somewhere, but that's about it Zac. World Market down here had a bunch of the Sam Adams triple bock yesterday, when I was there.” 10:42:49 AM 12/18/06 “Corona skunks b/c it's mishandled. Of course, the clear bottle helps - skunking is caused by sunlight. Flavor may diminish from warming, I believe, but true skunking is a photochemical issue and might be a reason most beer bottles are colored. I've had great corona, sans lime.” 10:45:17 AM 12/18/06 “They have the chocolate beer from Wisconsin in my grocery store. I keep looking at it but nyah. Got a nice Sierra Celebration Ale to try. I keep trying to find a Holiday brew to match Hauf Festbier that I used to get in MittelBavaria.” 10:46:00 AM 12/18/06 ““Corona skunks b/c it's mishandled. I don't think the skunk factor is so much from a clear bottle because look at Heinikins. Dark green bottle and nasty ass skunk too. Where are the home brewers at?” 10:50:59 AM 12/18/06 “Their is a brewery in Asheville that makes the chocolate beer. I'm not too sure if I want to try it but my son says it is good. I'm not a expert but maybe I found a thread that will teach me something! LOL” 11:01:06 AM 12/18/06 “I believe there is a misconception among European brewers that Americans like there beer a little skunked.” 11:05:26 AM 12/18/06 11:07:49 AM 12/18/06 “I'm going to Barley's downtown this afternoon where they have a jillion beers on tap and try something new. Anything but that Pear Beer. That #&%!$ wasn't fit for hogs to consume.” 11:34:11 AM 12/18/06 “Pear and beer should never be used in the same sentence chili. One demerit for you :-)” 11:41:23 AM 12/18/06 “Didn't I see on TV that there was a Man Law imposing a fruit ban in beer? Personally I like an orange slice in a light Belgium pale ale. So call me a sissy!” 11:47:44 AM 12/18/06 “I'm not drinking pear beer. It's pear hard cider. Big difference there.” 12:48:49 PM 12/18/06 “Hey BM, that was a really interesting article you linked to. Very cool.” 12:54:32 PM 12/18/06 “I tried Sweetwater Brown Ale over the weekend. I wasn't impressed. Too bitter for me, but lots of things are bitter to me. I bought it for a Christmas party Sat night. I drank one when I got home from the grocery store and wound up picking up a 6-pack of Yuengling on the way to the party. chili - the guy hosting this party had about 4 racks of ribs shipped in from the Rendeveux in Memphis. I really enjoyed them even if they had been frozen.” 12:58:45 PM 12/18/06 “Yeungling. Is there any other that can stand up to it dollar for dollar pound for pound the best beer round. I do like others I just thought I would wax poetic.” 1:50:34 PM 12/18/06 “yeungling... that is the beer i had when i was in pa for that hike wounded knee set up. i have had this beer and was most displeased with it. i am told that it must have been a bad tap or something. no hop flavor or aroma to speak of. blech. the steak i had with it was marginal as well (badly overcooked) and tasted like grilled cardboard so i am willing to accept the "bad pub" excuse until my next go at it.” 1:54:28 PM 12/18/06 “I'm not a fan of "hoppie" beers, so it may have been the beer. I don't care for IPA's for example.” 2:01:16 PM 12/18/06 “http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/01/22/beer.dogs.ap/index.html I think I'll pass on this this beer. "Wagging Tail" indeed.” 10:14:06 AM 1/22/07 “Dateline.... AMSTERDAM. Who'd a-thunk it?” 10:24:36 AM 1/22/07 Update ““Not to change the subject, but has anyone heard about Budweiser putting out a gluten free beer? I’d like to get some for my dad who has Celiac Disease; so right now the closest he can get to dinking a beer is having hard cider.” lumberzac 11:39:22 AM 12/18/06 I found it locally. It's called Redbridge. I had one with my dad of Friday. It tasted pretty good unlike the normal swill put out by Anheuser-Busch.” 10:34:54 AM 1/22/07 Samual Adams “I had some friends recenyly turn me on to Samual Adams, and I just love thier blck lager.” 1:14:53 PM 1/22/07 1:25:58 PM 1/22/07 Titan IPA “It's out of Colorado somewhere. Lots of hops in this one. So much in fact it's the only beer I've found my son won't drink. That means more for me. At 6.8 per alcohol it's got a little kick. I have to go to Whole Foods in Asheville, NC to get the high gravity beers. In SC they only sell wimp brew. I also tried some Seranac lager from NY this weekend. Not too bad but nothing special. last edited: 1/22/07 5:57:04 PM” 5:48:38 PM 1/22/07 “I think around 3 I'm going to declare it's 5 oclock somehwere and pop the top on an Abita Amber. I like to clean up my office in prep for the next week while sipping a nice brew.” 12:34:52 PM 2/23/07 “Celebrator. Ahhhh double bock. Have to say no to Abita. It says it is bottled with pure spring water from the New Orleans area and we all no that nothing is pure in New Orleans.” 12:51:02 PM 2/23/07 “I wish I could do that. Guess it will have to wait for the train ride home.” 12:51:16 PM 2/23/07 “It says it's bottled with pure spring water from Abita Springs. Abita Springs, LA is probably 10 miles north of the north shore of Lake Ponchatrain (sp?). This is probably 30 miles north of NO and well above sea level. Not even close to the same thing as NO.” 1:02:55 PM 2/23/07 “mmmm, Abita! I prefer Turbodog. Found some in Craig Colorado a few days ago.” 1:03:18 PM 2/23/07 “Correction, according to mapquest it's 46 miles N of NO. WK - it's nice. I make sure all of the thinking work is done for the week and then pop a top while I straighten up in prep for the next week. Heck, we have beer and pizza parties at lunch for peoples b'days.” 1:05:15 PM 2/23/07 “Personally, I do all my best thinking work while drunk.” 1:06:13 PM 2/23/07 “goat - I saw the Abita turbodog in the grocery store when I got the amber. I'll have to give that one a try.” 1:07:05 PM 2/23/07 “I live in TN and the stank of New Orleans occasionally gets into our drinking water so I know it is in Abita Springs.” 1:09:54 PM 2/23/07 “whatever” 1:24:25 PM 2/23/07 Day Off “I just got back from shopping at Trader Joe's and the local German sausage-maker.....Binkert's. Mmmmm, fresh bratwurst(for the freezer and a future dinner) made by real live Germans!! I'm having a Mendocino Brewing Company White Hawk India Pale Ale.........well, maybe two, and then a little nap before I start doin' up some chicken burrito dinner for my gang and the neighbors. We're celebrating, uh............four more weeks of winter. Yay, spring is just around the corner!!” 1:32:20 PM 2/23/07 “Anything ending in '-ator is bound to be Trouble. It's just me and about 16 Urquells at the moment. [and 2 or 3 Sammy Smith Brown Ales (arrrrrr)]” 1:38:51 PM 2/23/07 “Harpoon IPA” 4:07:02 PM 2/23/07 “30 minutes to a cold sixer!” 4:21:44 PM 2/23/07 “Since it's Friday for me, I'm declaring it 5 o'clock somewhere. Abita Amber thank you very much. I just have to print and sign some things and then I'm heading home.” 3:42:48 PM 3/01/07 “I got some PBR. I'm drinking cheap until my taxes are paid. Someone has to foot the bill for their "govment check."” 6:30:06 PM 3/01/07 “beer is not in my vocabulary any more.” 6:33:08 PM 3/01/07 “Sierra Nevada Porter. Dark, rich, and tasty!” 6:53:48 PM 3/01/07 “DANG dayhiker! Me too! Abita Amber” 6:54:49 PM 3/01/07 “good beer :) Sh” 6:54:58 PM 3/01/07 ““Sierra Nevada Porter. Dark, rich, and tasty!” The very definition of full flavored!” 6:58:48 PM 3/01/07 “I'm havin' me a Blithering Idiot.” 7:08:34 PM 3/01/07 Mmmmmmmmm...Beer! “I bought a 6-pack of a Michigan beer, can't remember the name of the brewery but it was a Vanilla Java Porter and DANG was it delicious. And Free24... It appears as if "beer" is to still in your vocabulary as of your last post. 8)” 9:06:25 PM 3/01/07 Jump to Page << prev
