Well I think we should keep this thread going to let each other know what's out there.

I see Campmor has got Thermarest Guidelite 3/4 for $40.
Much else out there?

lumberzac,
Have you tried www.froogle.com? They generally can get you to some decent prices.

Walmart has a neat little light like a aurora. It weighs 1.8 oz and costs $9.95, it comes with 2 little lithium batteries and has 3 LED lights in a triangle. It's lighter than my Tikka.

I think they have done something to the bags to make them lighter so keep your eyes open for other closeouts on the old (very light) bags

I read somewhere they are changing the MF bags to make them lighter. I think with the Versalite that they are now doing a Super Versalite which is good down to 10 degrees.

1.6 oz. FM Radio, LED Flash Light Combo, $1
I was poking around in a dollar store today and found this little FM Auto Scan Radio & Mini Torch (FlashLight) with two AAA batteries and earbud headphones included. Total weight of 1.6 oz. (0.9 oz Radio/FlashLight, 0.4 oz Batteries, 0.3 oz headphones), and a cost of One Dollar!
Picture Link
It's about 4 & 5/8" long by 1" wide and 5/8" thick.
It has a pretty brite white LED light on the end of the case controled by a pushbutton. The radio isn't hifi but does the job well enought.
You never know what you might find in those dollar stores!
I think I have another 1.6 oz to add to my pack. Ha Ha.

I like my digital am/fm radio for hiking but think I'd love a very small XM (satellite) radio for hiking.

I scored big time this weekend! I don’t know how widespread this chain of stores are but Marshall’s (an off-price subsidiary of TJ Max) has TNF shirts dirt cheap. I got $38 poly hiking tees for $9 and $49 long sleeve poly shirts for $15!

Picked up a very useful item for me, the tea drinker, at EMS the other day. Looks like a very well spent 10 dollars.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I love tea. I usually buy most of my tea in Chinatown, so sometimes, I use loose tea leaves. This little thang is good for all uses.

Tree, I picked up a filter spoon years ago at REI, for a dollar. It works really well too. It has mesh panels with very small openings so no particulates floating around. Works for tea and coffee.

TB, sounds a little like the filter Maple has for her coffee. This is a little bulkier, I know. And it's twelve oz. Curious to see how long this container keeps the tea hot...

No, some municipalities want their citizens to be at the total mercy of criminals, so they outlaw anything that one might use for self-defense.

heck no. If I looked like a boy, I wouldnt have DOM's trying to shamelessly flirt with me every night at work. It's worse in the hospital then it was waitressing or in retail, sheesh! Just the other night some middle aged dude tried to convince me he was a retired chip-n-dale- stripper and that he would come out of retirement just for me...omg, I couldnt help but laugh my ass off.
