embear, not so sure about chemistry right yet. We had a good time and that is what is important. The only downfall is she hasn't backpacked. She likes the Smokies but prefers cabins with hot tubs ;)”

“Cabins with hot tubs are very nice too! Especially when you are with a member of the opposite sex. Hey, as long as she is willing to try backpacking or camping, then that is good.

I think initial chemistry is a very important factor in whether or not its gonna work out. I've gone out with guys 2 and 3 more times sometimes "hoping" that chemistry would develop, only to be disappointed. I have recently found out that if it is not there in the beginning, it won't be there after 2 or 3 more dates.”

I was speaking of my personal situation only. Everyone has different expectations of chemistry and attraction. I have known people who have gotten together and fell in love when they initially didnt even like each other. I am the kind though that needs the....how dicentra said it.... BAM!”

Last weekend Jon's buddy called me up to say he was in the country (he's American but works in the U.K.), was I free to go out with him and his two Enlgish buddies? So the four of us went out. The two English guys wanted so badly to find American girls. They had so many opportunities, more than I would have imagined. Yet they managed to screw up every single one. Every time a couple cute girls would come to our table to talk to them, the girls would always ask the guys if they were from Liverpool. (Apparently that's the only place over there that anyone from here has heard of.) And every time, the two guys were very quick to tell them, oh no. We're from Yorkshire. Finally, I said, guys, pretend you're from Liverpool regardless of what you think of the place! You might have better luck.

But no go. They went home emptyhanded. But I had a good laugh over the eveing.”
