Well, I have yet to find a backpacking buddy here so I've been going Death Valley, Anza-Borrego, Zion, Arches, Joshua Tree, Mojave Preserve, etc. by myself. Figured I could maybe meet some like-minded types here. Oh, yeah, and get some advice about getting a new pack since mine is hopelessly worn out. peace”

I, myself am a true Wizard, of the first magnitude, and can surely give you sound advice...my first thought is THIS...meet me saturday morning at the visitor center of the Red Rock Canyon BLM area, just west of your fair city. I shall be the one with the Wizard staff. I shall be exploring that region, looking for descendants of Shelob, I understand that she escaped the destruction of Mordor and has bred and spread her brood to the mountains that surround Las Vegas.

Then, the following weekend, Stratusloop, a Wizard of some cunning and ability, and I shall be meeting the fair Snow Nymph where she will guide us into the Canyon of Fall, within the Valley of Death.

You might be of some use on these ventures, and aid is always welcome from strangers met on the trail.
