falling off a step

“Well it ain't no cliff but still tramatic none-the-less. Just fell down a step da other day leaving a pal's house. OUCH! Didn't twist my ankle or nothing but I bruised my right foot so that I can't bend my toes without pain.
Guess I will call off my weekend hike ifn this ain't healed by then.

Anyone do this before? I must a looked like a freek landing on my face like I did. I wasn't even drunk yet.”

“I prolly shouldnt admit to this but I was hiking some local trails and had to cross this boardwalk that is part of a very old dam.Its only about 30 feet across but there is a certain kind of dirt/silt on it that is like walking on wet ice even when it is dry! I got about half way across and my feet went out from under me like they had been kicked!! I automatically put my arm down to break my fall and ended up tear cartilage in between two of my ribs ,but the worse part was I came down so hard I fractured my ass bone lol man that hurt for a long while!!! I guess its my fault for losing a bunch of weight and not having enuff padding on my arse! Oh well what can you do . Hope you heal up quick!”

“I hear ya...Ouch!

I fell, slipped actually, going down to the basement a few months ago. I was holding a glass in one hand and when I slipped I put the elbow down to break my fall and broke the 2x12" step. Not in half, but the front 3" lengthwise down the grain. I hit pretty hard, and my shoulder hasn't been the same since.”

“I came down so hard I fractured my ass bone lol man that hurt for a long while!!!

“Rolled my big toe underneath my foot once going down steps. Thought it was broken but only strained/bruised. Boy did the joint pop when my weight came down on that foot with the toe rolled under.”
