My projects have be languishing and I now have a shop in which to work and a key to same.

If any of you guys would like the see Roaring Plains in West Virginia, I will be there the day before ThanxG and returning home that Saturday.

yeah, that side, my hope is to camp at the junction of yellow dog and rock runs.

The waterfall is on Yellow Dog Run, about a half mile upstream.

Anyone up for the Pinchot Trail Thanksgiving weekend? It won't be a butt-kicker by any stretch of the imagination (2 nights, 23 miles) but I've got a few people on board already.

Well, back to the beginning, looking to do in March the trip I initially posted on this thread 4 years ago...

“in the next few weeks, or month, i was thinking about a PA trip. i'd like to do the mid-state trail from PA 26 and hike to the greenwood spur, which we'll take south to greenwood furnace state park. this trail is located in central PA, so it would be convenient for many people. the shuttle is very easy and convenient.

highlights:

views, views, views...part of this is a ridgetop trail with rocky terrain and numerous awesome vistas. indian wells vista is incredible.

4 incredible natural area- big laurel flat, bear meadows, detweiler, and alan seeger. each of these places are awesome.

expect scenic streams, great camping, rhododendron tunnels, and old growth forest.

this trail had lots of variety and many scenic features.

we'll finish at greenwood furnace state park, with lots of history and great hiking nearby.

anyone might be interested?”

March 22/23, or 29/30 look good.

I'm signed up with the NEOH group, but it's a larger group. I was hoping for a smaller group. If no one is interested, I'll go with them.

This is a really nice trail, with some great camping. It is rocky, so be prepared.

You can keep the jockey please. I have enough jockey-sized humans around here already. ;)

Nah, geese attack everyone. Even their owners.

A pony looks harmless enough until it takes a chunk out of you. The idea that it'll get close enough to get one of them really, really good amuses me.

A tan one please!

Steal one from the National Park on Assateague Island in Maryland.

They got plenty and they will bite and kick.
