“Wife and I took the new toy out for a tromp in the woods trying to find our first ever geocashe. I have to say that we did not find it, but she got to see some spring flowers on the way I got got a tromp in the woods. All in all it was a win-win. As I understand it, that is the point.”

“Anyone up for the Pinchot trail Sat 4/12. I'm taking Eagle Beak (those from the last Drunk=ferst met him) on an overnighter that weekend, and could use some more company. Easy trip 12-14 miles total, not much elevation change.”

“We plan on hiking the south loop, camp somewhere along Choke Creek. 6-7 miles each day.”

“Hust looked at the schedules and my daughter has to work on Saturday at 4:30. My wife works that day day as well. I may not be able to make it but I'll see about possibly meeting up with you Saturday night. I'll have to check maps.

any idea where you will be camping? Is that along the "nature trail"?

“I believe there are three sites along the creek. Prolly the one with the best wind coverage. Not sure, but I'll know more as the plan develops.”

“It looks promising. I could drop off my daughter and scoot on out. There is a parking spot along the nature trail. Looks like I could schlep in from there.”

“Yea, I believe the nature trail is part of the loop. Camp somewere near Butler Run, for a good water source.”

“Looks very doable. I'll know better during the week.”

“Can't, as I'll be in CO that weekend, but there is a bunch of us looking to hike the Thunderswamp the last weekend of the month.

Can you get out twice in April?”

“Accually, no Rev, I have to bail for family reasons. Sorry, life gets soooo in the way of backpacking. I will be posting a new trip in a couple of weeks. I hope you can make it then.”

“hmmm.... There was a Bucktail Trail hike scheduled for next week if I remember rightly... at least there was according to my PDA. Did that go the way of the mass migration, did it get canceled or did I make the entries in my PDA during some somnambulistic foray?”

“jmitch canceled, or at least postponed the Bucktail Trail hike due to a conflict with the KTA spring meeting in Wellsboro and he is now on the board of directors. Lots of good day hikes scheduled around Tioga County that weekend.”

“I'm going to be at Hills Creek State Park on Saturday morning trying to figure out which side of the lake MST will use - it was figured out but there's a new manager so we'll have to see if the answer's the same. Following weekend I'm leading 2 dayhikes for the KTA weekend.”

“ki0eh... thanks for the info. I have to be back home by 4:30 to get my daughter to work so I guess I am looking for something Saturday night. Sounds like a solo....”

“I'll be going up Fri PM and will probably be back past the "Chef Boy-Ar-Dee" stacks by that time Sat PM with 5yo in tow both ways. That factor will keep the kilometers down, plus she might be desperate for another diversion if you are. Won't be hammocking in the rain either but in the cabin with wood stove but have to hike the MST through a creek to get to it.”

“There was talk of doing the West Rim Trail over the July 4th weekend. Is that happening?”

“What's da poop for the 4th of July West Rim Trail hike? When you starting and what da plan? I have two potential trips I can go on. Tough choice.”

“Would like to get out this weekend, hammer out some miles- AFT, MST, AT?”

“Drinking this weekend at Hertlein on the AT. Have you hiked that bit yet?”

“Sorry, but I am biking instead. I've been so lazy after getting back from the JMT I might die but I'm committed. Looking forward to that pack once the weather cools off.”

“I'm finishing the Mid State Trail this weekend. Haven't hiked much since I was in California (July) so this will be a slow one. Pretty rugged, but able/insane folks are welcome.”

“Supposed to be another great weekend. Anyone getting out? I'd like to do something.”

“I'm involved in a trip from Bradley Wales north on the WRT. It is mostly a Hammock trip but tenters are welcome. It is a slow and leisurely plan so it won't be a butt buster by any means. Meeting at Bradley Wales Friday night and heading north from there.”

“email me if you want to go to the Adks this weekend. We're heading up tomorrow night and returning Sunday. It is some off trail peak bagging.”
