quehanna!
I miss that place. I would go, but that Easter dinner thing.

Next year I want to do the whole trail.

maybe we could look at a Fri night/all day Sat hike so we're home for Easter?

Sorry that I can't make it. All of your picks sound great but I'll be busy all weekend and I already have the following 2 weekends booked for trips. I'd like to hook up for another trip before the spring season ends.

Thinking about first or second weekend of march. loyalsock-link loop, with a bushwhack along coal run with waterfalls. Or maybe a section of the mid state trail.

or maybe the western part of the donut hole trail.

Loyalsock is beautiful! I'll never forget my first winter backpacking trip there. Freezing cold but gorgeous.

Jmitch, if you do a PA trip the first weekend in March, I may be able to join you. The second weekend I am going to the Catskills for some peak bagging.

I'm interested. Post what the plan is as it gets a little closer. I never knew about the waterfalls at Coal Run.

There are several scenic falls and small cascades on coal run. I'm leaning for the loyalsock-link loop, we can begin and end at worlds end.

Jmitch, the waterfalls would be nice to see and should be a nice hike.

Buddha, hope you can make the hike and it would be nice to see you again as well.

Rich,

I hear they may extend the Pinchot Trail down Painter and up Panther creeks.

Jmitch, I had a feeling they would get around to doing that. Some old logging roads already exist so it would be easy for an extension to be added.

I haven't read all the posts here, but I'd like to say try not to miss some of the charcoal flats along the way, esp. as you get closer to Greenwood Furnace SP ...then you can read about them at the museum there after the trip if you wish.

Here's a self-timer shot I took some years ago at Indian Wells Vista, looking east above Bear Meadows towards Route 322 (I hope this works) .....

Most definitely interested. I'll be up there June 17th for the MSTA spring meeting. May help out on some trail work Saturday morning. I was considering doing that hike on June 18th but if you're going to lead one, I can change my plans.

helloooooo? Anyone, anyone?

I've got July 1st through the 4th open!

Who wants to hike? Since I am not quite in shape for the annual "Buttkicker" in Vermont, anyone interested in something in PA? Several scenic trails to choose from. I think a waterfall with swimming hole is mandatory with the heat we've been experiencing here. oy!

how about Dub's WV trip AmyG - he's coming off a broken leg so I suspect it won't be much of a buttkicker there.
