Ooooo, gorgeous weekend! Ok then. Bring it. ;)

Hey, y'all should be sporting these:

That's his plan alright.

Disclaimer: *I* am NOT a bonehead. I'm just a silly girl who will probably fall into Saw Creek. (to the amusement of anyone present)

There's criteria for bonehead status. It involves undiagnosed bouts of insanity. Not all of us are worthy. ;)”

Watching you try to cross the creek might make this a trip worth attending . . .

This silly stream crossing is nothing !!
I will take a running start, close my eyes and flap my arms like a bird, glide accross and land safely on the othe side.
The people will cheer and there shall be much happiness.

I'm thinking about it since an early out is on the menu for Sunday. I could probably be home by 11:00am. Is there a carpool planned for this trip since you're all in the same general area??

Wouldn't want to miss any football. ;)

No. No carpool planned, but if you want to drive here I will drive the rest of the way.

Oh, and keep the 78 construction in mind.

Obviously the boy hasn't a clue. Being in the woods is much better than sitting on a couch with 3 dogs at your feet, countless empty beer bottles scattered about and lasagna baking in the oven.

Get yourself a Mountain House Lasagna and I'm sure there will be plenty of liquor to go around. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

He's becoming a soft, squishy, girly-man. Too much couch and cooking. Not enough trail.

So many PA trails he needs to get to.

Yeah, I need to get more tail trail too.

about that stream crossing, you really can't fall in cuz you have to walk right through it. There is no rock hop opportunity at all, unless they did something since the spring. I guess you could fall over while walking through it. That would be entertaining.

Hopefully, I'll get my waders repaired this week. They can be shared, at a price.

ENS - your QT weather is gonna be misreable. You might as well join us.

Yeah, trail, that's it. ;)

Not really worried about the creek. If it's bad from the recent rain we can avoid it.

Yes ENS, you two should come with us. Better weather...lots more beverages...

Weird wild stuff.

I'm repairing my waders as we speak. The way the rain is falling, we might need more than waders to get across Saw Creek.

Speaking of maps, anybody find their's yet? I still can't find mine, but I do have Jmitch's book which has a smaller scale map in it.

ENS,

I prefer the QT over TST; I'll let you know tomorrow. Are you definitely going? The trail is going to be wet with a few gnarly stream crossings. We'll have more fun than the TST crew.

Hmmm, swimming. Might be just a tad chilly.

No map here. Poof, gone. I printed one of these: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/hiking/thundermap.aspx

Yeah swampy! Maybe even MUDDY if we're lucky!

Who's ex-wife? One of you has an ex-wife? Or just one ready to BE an ex? Let's see:

Ok, who did it? ;)

Saw Creek is looking questionable. Sure is.

We could shorten the hike and skip over that section. But I'm sure we'll find a away across.
Just take off the boots, put on the sandels and get in. Its not that wide and the cold water will feel refreshing.

If you wussies really wanted to avoid the stream crossing the map shows a parking area off 402 a short distance from the main trailhead parking area. Go north on 402 form the main parking area and make a right on Whittaker road and a short distance down that road is a parking area close to the trail. You could leave a car or two at the main trailhead and head over to the other parking area to start the hike. This would allow you to do most of the trail and avoid the stream crossing. This would start you on the trail a little north of red rock run, which would also mean you would miss the section of trail along red rock run which is one of the most scenic sections of the trail. Or start the hike at Whittaker road leaving the stream crossing for Sunday morning allowing another 24 hours for the water level to drop a little.
conk

That would be easy. Where's the fun in that?

Thanks conk. :) (except for that calling us wusses, which I will remember):p

QT
yeah Jmitch, that's where we be heading. Hope ya can make it. We're going to leave York around 5am and try to get there around 930am, with a breakfast stop on the way. It's a 3.5 hour drive.

I was looking at the map and if you go, we should spot a car and then you can still hit up Sanders and Red Run.
