“I was wanting to go on an overnighter sometime next week while I'm off on Vacation. I looked at the Management area rules, and they state that: "IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL To camp in the management area except in designated sites. Campers using generators must camp in site designated for generator use. On management areas located on U.S. Forest Service lands, this camping
restriction applies from October 1-January 31. Individuals or groups may camp on the management area for a period not to exceed nine (9) days in any 30- day period. Campfires must be extinguished before departing. No
warming fires shall be permitted away from camping area."
I gather from this that outside of campgrounds during deer season, camping is technically off limits.
I'm one to go for it anyway, but I'm sure there are those that have had more experience with this. Any suggestions?”

“Thanks, SS. Wasn't sure if the MA rules also applied to the Wilderness since the MA sort of Encompasses it.

I'm going with my dad, but he has been having some knee problems, any recommendations on where to go for the best trip/least obsticles.”

“Stay off the ridge tops. Too many downed trees for your Dad.

Any of the trails near the river are cleaned up the best.”

“Thanks for the advise, did some more looking around and found out that the Sipsey Wilderness is part of Zone A of the Black warrior MA, There are gun hunt days the 26th through Jan. 1. Can't have moterized vehicles in the Wilderness area, but my luck I'd piss off a hunter that hiked in that morning. I think we might take a shot at the Walls of Jericho. The hike in will be good, do all the looking around that day, camp and take our time hiking out the next day.”
