Almost home from my bike ride, got sent back to the store for ice cream. For me, a Alaska Brewing Co. Smoked Porter and a Full Sail Equinox, ESB. It'll keep me out of the cookie dough and cherry chocolate chip ice cream.

Good gin is waaaaayyyy better
I've developed a taste for martinis. I made my first with some cheap Seagram's gin. When I polished off that bottle, I decided to go ahead and put out the bucks for a bottle of Beefeater's.

Well worth it. Yum!

Toodle-oo!

never liked martinis, maybe another try is in order. In this hot muggy weather I have really started liking vodka tonics with lime, crisp refreshing but dangerous.

I've developed a taste for margaritas lately. Only problem is they taste so good I have a hard time drinking them slowly.

Didn't see Boodles at the liquor store. Alabama is one of those back-assward states where the state buys all the liquor and then distributes it to the liquor stores. So uncommon stuff isn't found much.

G and T...after a long day on the beach....MMMM...but don't do none of that anymore.

For me it was the ultimate philsophical problem...One was too many and a thousand were not enought (LOL)>

Plus my job now I am more or less on call 24/7.

Me and Mrs. ChicagoMark are not gin drinkers. A guest bought and brought a .75 liter of gin. Shelf price nearly $40!

DARN that was G-O-O-O-O-D. Even Mrs. liked it and she usually drinks 1-2 glasses of wine a week!

Friend usually drinks Shaphire. (Sp?) This was WAY beyond.

OK, I just went to happy hour at "Elephant Bar". My son-in-law works there.. So we sit at the bar (he's the bar tender) and he says " yes, you need a MiTi"(sp?). Ok I say. He doctors them up real nice. So, three later and here I am. Now I'm having the wine that I planned for tonight. Oh Boy!
It's Friday and isn't life grand? (can't beleive I'm on the computer typing. I should be in bed. :P

I like gin a lot.

I bought a small bottle of Bombay Sapphire, just to try it out. It's good, but a little too subtle on the juniper berries for me. I think I like Beefeater's best, it's like being whacked over the head with a juniper branch.

In a martini.

I tried small sips of the two straight, for a comparison.

I can drink just about any liquor straight, even tequila. My brother got some Resposada in California, now that is sippin' tequila.

vodka, Tequila, whiskey/whisky, Ouzo, Sambuca, GM, Really good rum ;) , I think I've drank it all straight.

Maybe Gin, IMO, is unlike all others and more perfect with tonic & a lime?
