Thanks for the nice comments
Ewker, I had to learn about waterfall photography to get that "silky" look. Its not a secret. Just gotta have the right settings. If you have a camera that can be set manually... you can do it. I have a digital and set it at 8.0 , 0.0-0.7 and use a tripod. A polarizer and a neutral density filter are the ticket to getting the effect also. Make the colors more vibrant and compensates for the white glare of the water. Overcast days are the thing for waterfall photos.
Next thing I want for my camera is a warming filter. I want to work on learning to capture the subtle hues of sunrise and sunset.

Nice shots.
Say, where is that cabin located?

Avent Cabin
is located along Jakes Creek. Go about 1.0 mile up Jakes Creek Trail. Look to your right and there is a distinct cut in the dirt berm heading to the right and toward the creek. There is a footlog to cross and the cabin is up on a hill. Easy to find if you know its there.

Nice winter memories, thanks.

humanpackmule - FYI, If that is the property that I thimk it is, the lease on it lasted much longer than those of the main village. I assume it is empty now, but it was still occupied a few years ago.

Barbie Vs. the Army ;-)

True to the spirit of Trail Talk.
I had made up my mind to find a certain waterfall on Jakes Creek on Saturday and to get some pix of the Avent Cabin in snow.
I was having a great time and enjoying the peace and quiet of the woods. Hadn't seen another soul or footprint since I hit Jakes Creek. As I cross the footlog to the Avent Cabin... I saw a fresh bootprint and it was pointing in the direction toward the cabin. To get inside the building you have to walk around to the back and go in. As I passed by the front I heard a comotion indoors. Lots of scramblinb around and obviously upset mens voices. Whoever it was wasn't liking me being there. There was smoke coming out of the chimney too. hmmm. I took down my hood, came busting in the door and in a LOUD obnoxious tone said "TA-DA! I'm HOME!" big toothy grin. :^D
Here are three huge, upset Army soldiers from Ft. Benning on their stealth camp in the cabin. Now here comes this tiny thing with a head full of blonde curls and teeth. Looking like Mizz Enthusiastic. They were at a loss. They knew good and well they weren't supposed to be camping in that cabin. I just made myself at home. Hung around for awhile. Made them ALL sign the guest register. Got all they names. Stayed long enough to aggravate the hell out of them. LOL
I know you could have bought any one of them for a nickle when I came plowing in. haha!

Because the Hoo Hoos
are not for public viewing. Except by the public of one known as my husband! Thats why. And if you want to know the magic words to get photos like that drop down on one knee and say "Dana, Will you marry me?" and of course.....
Its too late.
But thanks just the same for wondering.

Tilt, Thanks. :)

It would just get this thread killed anyway.

Boy-hidee! I have a fine notion.
I'll start naming off who is on the Top of my list for TT Nekkid Mens Calendar. I have 'em all picked out. Just waiting my chance. I might have to chase 'em a spell to ketch 'em.
