“Hey jeffrey, I've backpacked fairly extensively in the Bitterroots, it's one of my favorite truly wild ranges.

It sounds like you, living in the area, have hiked extensively there too. Have you ever been to any of the lakes in the Cub Creek drainage and around Mt. Paloma and the Brushy Fork/Cub Creek drainage, like Emerald Lake, Bills Lake, Brushy Fork Lake, Sting Ray Lake, Bigfoot Lake, or Cub Lake? How about Goat Lakes under Goat Heaven Peaks? I've been to lots of wild and whacky places in the Selway-Bitterroots and these have been on my list to explore, but I haven't had the opportunity to go back there for a couple years now. Thanks!”

In the old days, on Saturday nights, the Bitterroot Boys would drive over Chief Joseph pass to meet the Big Hole Girls.”

“Great place, eh, Phil? My brother lived up Lolo Creek for a while about 3-5 miles below the hot springs. We used to have college keggers at Fort Fizzle which right near where you're talking about.”

“aero - My sister lived about 1.5 - 2 miles west of the fort. She lived there from about 1977-1990. It was very pretty there.”
