Valentines Day Stinks

“I got my spouse a care-package from Starbucks. Mug, cherries, cookies, a cool CD, etc. She is a major junkie. I would get her a card but she has one already and that's too close to giving cash for me. The best gifts are things the person would love but wouldn't get for themselves. I think if you find something like that it shows you are thoughtful and then the thought counts even more. I fear Starbucks wasn't that thoughtful, however. I am going to take her out to dinner tomorrow night at a Tapas place I know she'll love.”

dhutch, I'm poor so I appreciate those kinds of gifts. I was dating a guy on a particular Christmas I won't soon forget. He told me he thought about getting me a long leather jacket but given my lifestyle, didn't know if I'd ever wear it. I told him if he was looking to spend that kind of money, what I REALLY wanted was a Kitchenaide counter top mixer which I could never afford to get myself. I keep burning up these little hand mixers. So Christmas day arrives and I don't have one gift, I have a BUNCH of gifts including a double-wide toaster, small compressor, two sweaters and a HAND mixer! Grrrrrr! I looked at all the money he had spent and thought he could have bought what I wanted. I can't complain though, just yesterday I burned up a hand mixer and guess what, I still have the extra one! :D”

“I didn't want any candy since I'm dieting and went overboard eating these big candies that are shaped like bon bons and are called "Whispers". I bought them in British Columbia when I was there over the weekend.

I don't know where they are made, but they are great. I don't think they are in the U.S. They are chocolate with a crispy wafer inside w/peanut butter.”

“Well I came home ahead of the bunch, cooked a full home made Sukiaki dinner for the family then went out and got Ice Cream Sundaes for the bunch.

My Present! She who will be unnamed is leaving tomorrow for the weekend in Florida with our daughter!!!!!!! That means a weekend at the Farm. And a weekend at the Scout Ranch strolling the fields, working in the woods, smelling the wood smoke!!!!!
