Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE: WMT) Friday unveiled a list of the most romantic states based on Valentine's Day sales. According to sales data from last year for diamond jewelry, boxed chocolates and roses, Southerners are much more romantic than Northerners, with heavier sales in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia.

Tennessee ranked No. 6 for roses, and No. 10 on both the diamond and chocolate lists. Mississippi is Wal-Mart's No. 1 chocolate state and the third on the diamond ranking. It ranked No. 5 on the rose list.

Hawaii and New Mexico topped the diamond and rose lists, respectively.

Vermont is the most romantically challenged state, ranking at No. 50 on both the diamond and rose lists.

More than 127 million customers walk through Wal-Mart's stores every week, which makes it the largest retailer in the world and an authority on shopping trends, Wal-Mart said in a release.

LOL ... that's not exactly the kind of gear I was talking about. Though they do have a "Cupid Adventure Set" for sale. Probably not good for the trail though. ;)”

We usually don't do valentine's day gifts. It just was luck that the dishwasher broke in the same week as a gift giving holiday. I'd rather have a dishwasher than diamonds anyday. =)”

My wife is a teacher and I rarely get to have lunch with her. So, I'm secretly packing us both a lunch tomorrow and I'm going to her school to eat with her. I went to her favorite store and got some of her favorite foods and fruit. We're gonna pig out tomorrow in the cafeteria and make the other teachers jealous.

After 20 yrs of marriage ya gotta get creative.
