“all they do is render out some of the peanut oil and replace it with corn syrup ... so much corn syrup that the calories/serving stays the same.

i bet the peanut oil they render out is worth more than the corn syrup solids they put in. so it's probably a good deal for the peanut butter manufacturers.

... they put "0 grams trans fat" on the label but when you read the ingredients it says "HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS"... i used to wonder what was up with that because i thought this was trans fat but the label says "0 grams trans fat"... well it turns out the FDA permits the label to say "0" when the amount is less than .5 grams/serving.”
