even more good update stuff...
excerpt from Ped's Dad-

The doctor said that they have done frequent blood samples over the 3 weeks and that they have not found any infection at any time. She said this is almost unheard of in such a badly burned patient. She said she did not have any explanation for why his blood is doing so well.

They will be considering in the next 3 days or so reducing his pain killer and letting him become more conscious if the pain is not too great; therefore he will begin to hear people talking to him. It will be much later before he will be able to talk.

In balance, the nurses and the doctor are all very pleased with his progress and do not see any worrisome issue at this time.

They think that he will begin to understand some things when people talk with him and suggest we make comments that help orient him as to where he, that he is improving, that things are going well, that we love him,--- all things easy for us to say.

Keep on sending hope and positive energy, people! It is working!!
:o)

Good to hear encouraging news.

Some burn victims have miraculous recoveries with very little scaring (I happen to know one). I will keep praying about that.

update...some awesome news!
excerpt from David's mom-

"Well, tonight was different!! [family members]and I went to the hospital. And for the first time, it was CLEAR that David was responding. His eyes were closed as usual when we arrived, but each time one of us talked to him, he opened his eyes and his mouth moved, as though he was trying to talk. When one left, he closed his eyes again, but opened them when the next one ofus talked to him!! And he was again doing much of his own breathing today. So maybe now he will be responding a bit more each day as they reduce the meds!!!

He is coming to life!!"

YAY!!!
