Fun vs. Serious posts

“This is so serious (in my mind), I couldn't possibly denigrate the thread about PedX's misfortune by posting it there, but... it needs posting IMHO.

We all bicker, have fun & yell at one another over political philosophy, etc. However, I've always *assumed* (and yes, I know all about the ass-u-me thing) that people, for the most part, were simply voicing their positions.

Then, our friend Bacpac posted his infamous "ye reap what ye sow" comment on the other site, to which I responded, something like.. "Bacpac... now's not the time, don't be a jerk"... or words to that effect. (I don't know 4 sure, because the exchange has been deleted).

Question 1 - Are people really so insensitive as to know when to post something or not?? I actually couldn't believe his post. "Raised in a barn" references don't even come close.

Question 2 - Why was that exchange deleted by the moderator? That fascinates me almost as much as how in the world Bacpac could care so little for a fellow human being.

I squabble over here all the time, as do many (most?) others. Violin & I alone could probably start a war, however, I honor & respect him as a human being. He & I simply differ on how best to solve humanity's problems.

What's apparent is that people who can't tell the diff between debate, policy differences, etc. and what's REALLY important in life represent the real problem humanity faces, be they Dem, Repub or anything else. We've just seen that in the Bacpac exchanges. He doesn't have a clue about what's important, and that's very sad.”

“I still am not sure if it’s bacpac or not. Remembering the fact that bacpac spent four months in bed paralyzed years ago I would think that he would kind of remember what it’s like to have misfortune for no reason.

Then again, I have come to the point where I don’t really give two shlts what people say on the internet. Nothing’s shocking and opinions mean nothing. A person’s own words are enough to convict them whoever it may be. I just don’t care any more.
