I should have known it is impossible to have a discussion with you as an adult.” 6:59:46 PM 3/07/04 “I didn't bring up president Bush. The article I posted did. There were plenty of other relevent facts that refuted your position in that article as well. BTW, Dumbass, the choice we'll have is between Kerry and Bush. Discussing the merits of each in comparison to the other is only sensible (which I wold not expect you to realize). And you can call me a child if you like, but it only makes it more humiliating for you that you can't refute points I make without lying.” 7:33:05 PM 3/07/04 “Interesting fact here, fellas. Kerry and Bush are TIED....... ......and that's WITH Bush having a running mate, where Kerry does not. :P” 10:12:29 PM 3/07/04 “"Labels are so silly in American politics. I think it's the silliest thing I've ever heard." ***John Kerry objecting to his National Journal ranking as the most liberal U.S. Senator” 12:10:07 AM 3/08/04 “Phaedrus, You did not quote a source for this statement. I assume it is simply your opinion of the President. ******* 3. As he has stated often (and this is an issue that I disagreed with him on) he voted to give the president the power to use military force at the president's discretion. The president had no discretion and was a miserable statesman. ****** I made a simple challenge that no one has met. Very telling. Of course it is obvious that once someone gets under your skin your ability to think rationally and focus on anything but your anger is shot. Looking forward to discussing your anger in the near future.” 7:12:10 AM 3/08/04 “KERRY'S YASSER WOE By DEBORAH ORIN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/20162.htm March 8, 2004 -- EXCLUSIVE Democratic presidential nominee-to-be John Kerry called Yasser Arafat a "statesman" and a "role model" in a 1997 book that Kerry cites as proof of his own foresight about foreign policy. [snip] +-+-+-+-+-+- What an idiot. After reading this, how can anyone really want this guy to be president? Good God, Kerry would probably praise Kim for being a virtuous leader of North Korea! If Kerry was elected, it would be like, like, like, having *TILT* as president! Say goodbye to national security!” 9:26:03 AM 3/08/04 But his wife's so smart & caring... “"Another thing that drives me crazy, and I hope I don't offend anyone here, is WAL-MART. Don't worry you will soon have another 4 years to complain.” 11:27:24 AM 3/08/04 “Hey, bacpac, I made my case without bringing up Bush. You asked a follow up question, and I answered it. You can't understand that because you're a moron. Mutt, you're right. That quote is disturbing. that said, I haven't read the book and would care to see them in context before I judge, especially based on the fact that quote came from the NY post.” 12:38:12 PM 3/08/04 “I only asked one question.” 1:02:02 PM 3/08/04 Spin City don't like the facts Jack. “From the link phaedy provided in defense of his votes against weapon systems. Do you want to take a crack at my challenge?” 1:14:25 PM 3/08/04 “1.) John Kerry Runs for President 2.) ? 3.) Profit.” 1:19:57 PM 3/08/04 “Holey moley! He voted AGAINST the F-14, 15, and 16? LOL! "3. He believes in leadership of the international community rather than unilateral bullying. I believe this is the correct ideological stance." ~Phayphay WTF you freakin' IDIOT! We? The greatest power in the history of humankind? Take a back seat at, what... the UN? So he accuses Bush of having no exit strategy for Iraq. What would he recommend? Something along the UNs Bosnia exit strategy (128 years and counting).” 1:20:49 PM 3/08/04 “You know what, MAT. Phaedrus gave you an intelligent answer and you tried to ridicule him. You aren't suckering me into that nonsense. You showed you have no spirit for good debate. Sorry, not interested in taking this any further with you. I will get involved with some more honest folks on a different thread...” 1:33:49 PM 3/08/04 “Good.” 1:35:32 PM 3/08/04 “He's voted against wasting taxpayer money on unnecessary weapons systems? Say it ain't so! "Overall, since I've been Secretary, we will have taken the five-year defense program down by well over $300 billion. That's the peace dividend. … And now we're adding to that another $50 billion … of so-called peace dividend. Congress has let me cancel a few programs. But you've squabbled and sometimes bickered and horse-traded and ended up forcing me to spend money on weapons that don't fill a vital need in these times of tight budgets and new requirements. … You've directed me to buy more M-1s, F-14s, and F-16s—all great systems … but we have enough of them." -- then Sect. of Defense Dick Cheney in 1992 "After completing 20 planes for which we have begun procurement, we will shut down further production of the B-2 bomber. We will cancel the small ICBM program. We will cease production of new warheads for our sea-based ballistic missiles. We will stop all new production of the Peacekeeper [MX] missile. And we will not purchase any more advanced cruise missiles. … The reductions I have approved will save us an additional $50 billion over the next five years. By 1997 we will have cut defense by 30 percent since I took office." -- President George H.W. Bush in his 2002 State of the Union Address” 1:44:00 PM 3/08/04 “Whoops! That was President George H.W. Bush 1992 SOTU.” 1:45:27 PM 3/08/04 “"It certainly refutes one of Phaedru's reasons for voting for him. Do you want to take a crack at my challenge?" Miss Anne Thrope 01:14:25 PM No it doesn't. If you'd take a look at the link I provided, you'd read about why those votes are there. I agree with them. Your rhetoric is ridiculously juvenile. Gojo, you calling me an idiot is classic. Thanks for that! I needed a laugh. You're the guy that only read the bold print in your history textbooks in school, right? WTF you freakin' IDIOT! We? The greatest power in the history of humankind? Take a back seat at, what... the UN? Back seat? You think that convincing other countries that our best interests are also their best interests is "taking a back seat"? You believe that our military is so expendable that we can just toss a few hundred soldiers lives on whatever problem we're looking at and say it was a fair trade? I'm in favor of the US LEADING other nations, through the UN, WTO, NATO and whatever other avenues are available. We will watch for our own national interests, never fear. I guess the difference between you and me is that I can imagine ways to accomplish our goals without killing our soldiers. Maybe you could try it.” 2:31:16 PM 3/08/04 “If there were a significant international presence, there wouldn't be a big bullseye on every American soldier in Iraq.” 2:43:24 PM 3/08/04 “We don't kill our soldiers Phagboy.... the enemy does.” 2:44:54 PM 3/08/04 “Hey dickhead, if our president sends soldiers into hostile areas without exhausting other options, he bears the responsibility.” 2:51:24 PM 3/08/04 “I ridiculed Phaedrus in this thread??? Let me see if I can figure this out. 1. Did I ridicule him when I called him a dumbass? No that was Phaedy ridiculing me. 2. Did I ridicule him when I called him a liar? No that was Phaedy ridiculing me. 3. Did I ridicule him when I called him dickless? No that was Phaedy ridiculing me. 4. Did I ridicule him when I called him a moron? No that was Phaedy ridiculing me. 5. Did I ridicule him when I said, I should have known it is impossible to have a discussion with you as an adult? No, That was only after the above taunts. 6. Did I ridicule him when I called him a moron the second time? No that was Phaedy ridiculing me. 7. Did I ridicule him when I said I knew you could not defend Kerry without bringing up President Bush? No, that was the object of this exercise and even though he thinks he did it, the truth is printed above. Then you say I am not honest, Treebeard? Where is your spirit for debate? I am trying to debate, but all I get are childish remarks and personal attacks. If you or phaedrus were able to make a point concerning John Kerry as a Presidential candidate I would think that you would do that instead of this game of name calling. I find it remarkable that you consider my discussion on this thread ridicule.” 3:05:08 PM 3/08/04 “I tell you what bacpac, see if you can tell us why Bush shouldn't be kicked out of office for lying to the American people about WMDs without mentioning Clinton.” 3:07:20 PM 3/08/04 “I didn't call you any names. I've been reading plenty of your posts. You seem to enjoy the head games. I don't want to play. Boy, you are touchy , too! Look how excited you got right above here...” 3:09:03 PM 3/08/04 “Hey stupid, you deserve all the ridicule you get. Also, your crying because Kerry is simply the better of the choices for president is rather telling. What did you expect, someone to say, "oh okay, I do disagree with him on this issue, I'll just vote for Bush"? Dumbass.” 3:09:43 PM 3/08/04 “Ohhh, the Pac man ain't even what he used to be. Bring it up a notch, M.A.T.” 3:13:46 PM 3/08/04 “I didn't call you any names. I've been reading plenty of your posts. You seem to enjoy the head games. I don't want to play. Boy, you are touchy , too! Look how excited you got right above here..." Treebeard 03:09:03 PM 03/08/04 I did not say you called me any names. You said I ridiculed Phaedrus. I said I did not. You did infer that I was not honest. I don't know what you call head games.” 4:08:52 PM 3/08/04 “Hey stupid, you deserve all the ridicule you get. Also, your crying because Kerry is simply the better of the choices for president is rather telling. What did you expect, someone to say, "oh okay, I do disagree with him on this issue, I'll just vote for Bush"? Dumbass." Phaedrus 03:09:43 PM 03/08/04 I understand you detest me and feel the need to lash out. I am not crying. How am i crying? Kerry is certainly not the best choice for President. He was not the best choice among the Democratic Candidates in my opinion. I expect a Presidential candidate to stand on his merit. His merit should not be based upon distain for the incumbent. I think in this case however that Kerry's primary merit is that Democrats hate President Bush. Not much of a political platform. You said recently that you bested me in every debate we have had. Do you really believe that or was it just because I 'deserve' ridicule?” 4:17:33 PM 3/08/04 “I expect a Presidential candidate to stand on his merit. His merit should not be based upon distain for the incumbent. I think in this case however that Kerry's primary merit is that Democrats hate President Bush. Not much of a political platform. Ridiculous. Your assertion is that presidential elections happen in a vacuum and that each candidate is judged based on closeness to some ethereal presidential ideal. Nonsense. Kerry was not my first choice of a candidate from the democratic side, but he was the choice of the majority of voters in the primaries. So now, I have a choice between, essentially, two candidates. Bush's traits and record are just as relevent to that decision as Kerry's. Trying to remove him from it altogether is a lame ploy to try to stir divisiveness, and it's not going to work. Bush has done more to unite the democratic party than the dems have, on that I'll grant you have a point. That does NOT mean that Kerry is a non-viable candidate on his own, as you're trying to suggest. It's like standing at a fork in the road, where one path leads through an alligator infested swamp, and the other is all uphill. You're trying to convince me that if it weren't for the swamp, i wouldn't want to walk uphill. Brilliant. You said recently that you bested me in every debate we have had. Do you really believe that or was it just because I 'deserve' ridicule?" Miss Anne Thrope 04:17:33 PM Just stating the facts. And you are still beneath contempt.” 6:54:37 PM 3/08/04 “I agree that this election will not be held in a vacuum. I was just curious if anyone knew what Kerry's merit was. I see that no one really does and the people who think they do (you) still have a lot of homework to do. So far as your being the master debater, I would say that your comments that I am a retard and suffer from downs syndrome show extreme lack of sensitivity towards those affected by these issues. Your consistent style of personal insults only detracts from whatever point you are trying to present. Your message is lost in your anger. I would seek professional help if I were you. One last question. Do you ever reply to your email?” 7:59:22 PM 3/08/04 “I agree that this election will not be held in a vacuum. I was just curious if anyone knew what Kerry's merit was. I see that no one really does and the people who think they do (you) still have a lot of homework to do. I've given plenty of reasons for supporting Kerry. You've tried to bring counterpoints to those and they have each been shown to either be evasive of the issue or downright wrong. Declaring victory on your part in paragraph above is laughable at best. I would say that your comments that I am a retard and suffer from downs syndrome show extreme lack of sensitivity towards those affected by these issues. You're right. It's an insult to retards everywhere. I'll reply to your email right now.” 8:10:36 PM 3/08/04 “Before I reply, however, why are you using a remailer?” 8:25:12 PM 3/08/04 “I'm a bit confused. Kerry says Bush was too quick to run into Iraq but is now saying he sat on his hands with Haiti? Guess I'm not the only one who's "confused".” 10:38:51 PM 3/08/04 “kerrry oh please save from that bad bad man gw bush! please take more of our taxes and make our goverment bigger and please please don't let bush take food from homeless old ladies and the other day i saw bush killing the last blue-bellied sap-sucker beetle with a pair of tweezers so save the beatles from him too cuz he is so mean and he caused every problem in the whole world today and he smells bad to..... NADER FOR PRESIDENT AND JIHAD BUSH!” 12:24:58 AM 3/09/04 SCREW 'em..... “I say SCREWM 'em all....Bush cant make up his mind and just makes it ahrd to listen to his speeches when he pauses for crowd applause every minute....kerry is just odd looking and this old colonel from WW2 at my work doesnt like him, so i dont.....dean ahhh ....well screw him to....gore=bore....bill pimp daddy clinton, not even enough morals to stay loyal to his wife.....im looking for some good independents...anyone got some theyve been watching? maybe a hulk hogan, AHNOLD kinda guy....nah i wont even vote....you have any idea how damn hard it is to get out to vote in metro Atlanta...screw it” 6:24:11 AM 3/09/04 “Shep, One thing President Bush can do is make a decision. It may not be the best decision, but he does not govern by polls or committee. It is one of the things I admire about him.” 6:51:07 AM 3/09/04 Phaedrus “I don't know what a remailer is. I have an email account, but beyond that I don't know if it is remailed or what it does.” 6:52:50 AM 3/09/04 The Post lies (again): “ "Democratic presidential nominee-to-be John Kerry called Yasser Arafat a "statesman" and a "role model" in a 1997 book that Kerry cites as proof of his own foresight about foreign policy. [snip] --Mutt 09:26:03 AM 03/08/04 In context: Excerpted from "The New War: (1997): In his contribution to a symposium-like volume published in 1986 under the title Terrorism: How the West Can Win, the noted historian Paul Johnson writes, "What has the PLO, the quintessential terrorist movement of modern times, achieved? After the PLO and the other terrorist movements it succored racked up an appalling total of lives extinguished and property destroyed, how far have they progressed toward achieving their stated political ends? Not at all; in fact they have regressed. The Palestinian state is further away than ever." Only eleven years have passed since those words appeared in print. If nothing else, this indicates the velocity of change in the late twentieth century. Terrorist organizations with specific political agendas may be encouraged and emboldened by Yasser Arafat's transformation from outlaw to statesman, while those whose only object is to disrupt society require no such "role models." In fact, what most encourages and emboldens terrorists now are the unprecedented opportunities inherent in the new world of porous borders, instant communications, and access to weapons of mass destruction. Like everything else, global terrorism is mutating at a very rapid rate. Failure to prepare for the new strains verges on the suicidal ... What Kerry said recently: "He was (a statesman) in 1995," Kerry said, recalling frequent White House meetings between Israeli and Palestinian leaders in search of peace in the Middle East. "He blew his opportunity in 1999, 2000," Kerry said. "As far as I'm concerned, he's an outlaw to the peace process."” 10:42:05 AM 3/09/04 “That sure makes a freaking difference. Thanks, Vio. You might remember that Arafat was co-recipient of the nobel peace prize that year (or was it the year before?), so it wasn't only Kerry that was fooled into believing the terrorist scumbag had come around.” 11:08:16 AM 3/09/04 “And it made sense at the time. Peace was (and is) the ultimate goal. Arafat represented one side of the story. The appearance of acheiving peace seemed very real at the time. So, given him the benefit of the doubt wasn't an absurd position to take...” 11:15:49 AM 3/09/04 “Well that's good to know. Thanks, Violin for doing the legwork.” 11:18:19 AM 3/09/04 “BTW, the NY post is a newspaper. Part of the media... Nevermind.” 11:21:01 AM 3/09/04 “And it used to be a really good one, until Murdoch turned it into a rag...” 11:21:41 AM 3/09/04 “Don't count on it!” 11:29:47 AM 3/09/04 Jump to Page << prev
