Had to Laugh
This is really moronic, but I had to laugh.

On the NY Times website there is a picture of John Edwards being interviewed and surrounded by a throng of reporters.

Under the photo is the photographers name...Ting Li Wang.

No disrespect intended but I thought that was funny.

That's it.

Rapper C Murder as changed his name to C Miller after realizing that his stage name hart his chances to get a fair trial and out of jail.

His publicist Giovanni Melchiorre of Koch Records, said on Tuesday.

C-Murder whose real name is Corey Miller, was convicted in 2003 of second-degree murder for shooting a 16-year-old Steve Thomas to death outside a nightclub in January 2002.

hmmm, maybe it's the shooting sixteen year olds that hinders his chances of getting out of jail?

Riyadh, 26 July (AKI) - The family of Osama bin Laden has asked the Saudi monarchy for permission to change its surname. The on-line newspaper Arabian Business reports that "the relatives of the 'sheikh of terror' no longer want to be recognised as belonging to the bin Laden family and have therefore asked to change the surname on their passports." The royal family is thought to have approved the request, according to the newspaper, which it describes it as "unprecedented".

A Somali arrives in Minneapolis as a new immigrant to the United States. He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says, "Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country!" But the passer-by says "You are mistaken, I am Mexican".

The man goes on and encounters another passer-by. "Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America!" The person says "I no American, I Vietnamese."

The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says "Thank you for the wonderful America!" That person puts up his hand and says "I am from Middle East, I am not an American!"

He finally sees a nice lady and asks suspiciously, "Are you an American?" She says, "No, I am from Russia!" So he is puzzled, and asks her, "Where are all the Americans?" The Russian lady looks at her watch, shrugs, and says...

"Probably at work."

Butts charged with stealing toilet paper Mon Jun 11, 6:40 PM ET

Police blame a woman named Butts for stealing toilet paper from a central Iowa courthouse, and while they're chuckling, the theft charge could put her in prison.

"She's facing potentially three years of incarceration for three rolls of toilet paper," Chief Lon Walker said, stifling a laugh as he talked to KCCI-TV about Suzanne Marie Butts. "See, I can't say it with a straight face."

Workers had noticed the rolls disappearing from the Marshall County Courthouse much faster than usual, Walker said.

Butts, 38, was caught last week after an employee saw her taking three rolls of two-ply tissue from a storage closet, Walker said.

Butts insisted it was the first time she'd pilfered toilet paper, but she declined to answer further questions on her attorney's advice.

The fifth-degree theft charge, a misdemeanor, normally carries a sentence of less than a year in jail. But Butts could face more time if convicted under the state's habitual offender law because she has prior theft convictions.

Walker did not know why Butts was at the courthouse, but said that she did not work there.

What's in a name?

Remember when a 'surge' was a bad thing? A surge was something you needed protection from because it would fry your electronics. Now it conveys power --- perhaps due to the tsunami. Powerful, certainly, but uncontrolled. Chaotic.

PS --- I was just wondering about North Face and how much of their line is Chinese-made. The North face of Everest IS in China, isn't it? So at least they get points for consistency.
