And I can only wish it were a bomb, SO IT WOULD STOP!!!

I read all through the book on the phone/answering machine combo. It says nothing about beeping unless one is recording an answering machine message that is too long.

I changed the back-up 9-volt battery, too.

AAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!

I do believe it's a power problem.
Check for other batteries. One might be hard wired in.
Check that the 9 volt is good.
Take it back to the store that sold it to you.

AND THROW IT AT THEM!

9-volt is for backup power for the answering machine part.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! It has a memory for keeping caller IDs. It was up to 64. And 64 is the limit. It did NOT SAY that it would BEEP intermittently when that happened.

I now figured out how to clear it out and only left two numbers on it: Bigfoot and Sunshine.

And I'm gonna tell the 800-number bastages to take me off their call list!!! I am getting like 3-4 calls a day from one of them. Cripes!!

You know what?? It's MY PHONE COMPANY calling, CenturyTel! And then they hang up and you get the stupid operator message that says stuff about calling.

Also, AT&T.

GEEZ!

You can bet I'll go to that website.

Course if it's MY phone company, does it still stand?

Apparently that doesn't stop the politicians or charities. I've had 'call reveal' on my phone for yrs it keeps a majority the marketers at bay.

I've known some people that.... well, it would've saved me lots of time if they had started beeping when their brains were full.

LOL! Who's the new troll? Cute :-)

Meow?? Purrrrrrrrrrrrr....

NS, I'm keeping numbers in Caller ID that I don't know and am too much of a "non typical house and home woman" (read that to mean I'm out hiking as opposed to doing housework or other "home things" like writing a number in some book -- and I don't have a PDA!) to keep that stuff handy in any one place.
