WD, Yeah, the original shuttle was a total bust. They (Kountry Korners) never showed up even though I called her the day before to comfirm. We used Wilderhouse, but they incresed their fee knowing we were desperate. I called KK on Tuesday just to see what their story was, and she told me that they did'nt have a driver that morning, so they just could'nt do it. What!!?? They have good prices, but are not reliable.

Nice job Fritz - thanks for doing that. I just relived the whole trip in reading it. What a great trip. Let's do it again next year.....

Team OTI's Trip Notes:
Rad, thanks for sharing those photos. We were there July 10-18. Lots of the same stuff happened to us.

The Trail above Precipice Lake was kind of sketchy. Lots of snow fields, post-holing, etc.

Big Arroyo crossing was hella-dangerous. Some old-guy fell over and went under with a huge pack on. We had to jump in and pull him out.

Chagoopa plateua down to Kern Valley had dozens of fallen trees across the path.

Kern Vally itself was crazy wet with some hairy river crossings.

Avoid Wallace Creek Junction at ALL COSTS. Mosquitoe hell.

No snow problems from Crabtree Up. The summit was a zoo of day-hikers calling their Mom's on their cell phones. Quite a buzz-kill. We walked all the way out from Upper-Crabtree to summit to Truck, 'cause there were no more Bear Boxes east of Crabtree and we were not going to carry a crazy-heavy bear canister. We wound up doing ~20 miles that last day with lots of elevation. Great trip though!
