Yes they are not permitted to marry one another.
But the right to marry someone of the opposite sex applies to everyone, gays are not denied that right becuase they are gay. So if you're gay and you want to get married take it up with the legislature.

From salon:

...Somewhere in South Dakota there was a 13-year-old kid watching this on TV. No matter how the TV cameras searched for the bizarre and weird, they would have to include the ordinary among us, the mothers with their children, the overweight, the buff, those beautifully dressed in Filipino wedding shirts, and those who were left in their rain gear. That kid in South Dakota would see that ordinary people like the people in his neighborhood are gay, love each other and want to be married.

Arnold has been a US Citizen for over 20 years. Legally, he was never an illegal that was granted amnesty.

But he does not have the same rights as other citizens, he cannot be President.

2 classes of citizenship, unequal rights ?

I do not understand why the intelligentsia on this board are not clamoring for his rights.

Oops it is because he represents the Right?

Or, because he thinks it OK for different rights based on sexual preference, then it is OK for his rights to also be limited based on place of birth.

But that position would condone death for murderers, they have deprived a life so they can receive equal treatment.

No ? well pardon me if I don't think some are being a little inconsistent.

Frankly, my point was this: prove that you may make a good governor. Until then, I wouldn't even think of considering you for president!

It appears that gay marriage is more successful than the heterosexual type.As yet there are no divorce. That probably bothers Rush, the Pope and the Scrub.

The bit they did on the Daily Show yesterday was freakin' hilarious.

What's the guy's name? Not Jon Stewart... It was the guy who does the Mr. Goodwrench commercials now... Steven Colbert(?)

Outstanding.

"Do Americans really want to change something as important as our constitution?"

Hate to inform you MarkO, but Americans have done it 27 times. Some weird things about bearing arms, freedom of religion, due process, probable cause, quartering troops, voting rights, slavery, states rights, racial stuff. . . apparently missed was the freedom to backpack.

The bar is set pretty high, but the Constitution can be modified if needed (see Article 5 of the Constitution for the details).

Yeah, but the first 10 of them were done before it became our constitution. Otherwise it wouldn't have.
