Enough is Enough

“This is a call for conservatives to openly and honestly express their views. I am noticing that far too often conservatives keep their mouth shuts for fear of sounding narrow minded, intolerant, uneducated, etc. Sometimes in conversation, on this forum as well, some people come off sounding unsure of their beliefs/opinions. I really think that it is because we, as a society, don't want to offend people who do not think like us. So what if people don't think alike. That is what makes this country great. Let me just go on record with a few points and see if maybe I am the last of a dying breed.
1: Women's lib is over. So shoot me if I think that women should be pampered, guys should open car doors, always show up to a date with flowers, and yes I believe it is the man's responsibility to provide for the family.

2: People are sissies nowadays. Let me let you in on a little secret: it is much easier to shirk personal responsibilities and pass them on to something else...It's called an excuse. Guess what, alcoholism and drug abuse isn't a disease, it is a choice. Take personal responsibilty. People think that if they call it a sickness, then they have no responsibility. Put the bottle down, stop beating your wife, take off the smelly clothes, and get on with your life. See how easy it is....and here's another shocker... Homosexuality is a choice as well. That elusive"gay Gene" has never been proven, even though we have mapped the entire human genome. I know what your aking..why would anyone put themselves through the torture if it was a choice? Why would anyone pierce their nipples? There are plenty of creepy bastards out there. Who cares what makes them tick.

3. If you spend so much time worrying about who you are offending, the stuff that really matters gets neglected. I think it is ridiculous that there was a lawsuit trying to change the PLedge of Allegiance because of "One nation Under God". I think it is ridiculous that high school coaches are sued by parents of children who didn't make the team. It is a classical example of sissy parents showing to their kids that if you whine enough and throw a tantrum, maybe you will get your way. I think it is ridiculous that GreenPeace protests oil drilling but they drive their gas guzzling SUV to get to the picket line.

4. It is ok to discipline your kids. A story was emailed to me about a man arrested for spanking his child after his TWO year old called DHR. Some bleeding heart judge said that people like him were the cause of troubled kids. NewsFlash!! Kids with no discipline are the cause of troubled kids.
Maybe I am all alone in the way I think, but I gotta tell ya', the good ol'USA is going to hell in a handbasket. And it damn sure isn't because we pray in public shools or because we dare trying to stop a bunch of sissies in San Fran from gettin' hitched. Maybe I dream of a world where welfare, affirmitive action, the aclu, peta, heroin, married fairies, and yes liberals, do not exist.”

I have a friend in Connecticut who is the epitome of a staunch conservative Republican. He holds public office there and has a poster of Rush Limbaugh on his wall along with a John Birch coffee cup.

We "spar" politics all the time.

He tells me that there are two people who have now set the Republican Party back 50 years, Newt Gingrich and George W Bush.

He really is embarrased right now to be a Republican and trust me, Bob is just a little to the left of fringe ultra conservative.”
