I was hunting around for info about Grand Canyon (we're going there for a whirlwind trip next month - no hiking, though...), and the NPS web site had a link to the Library of Congress. This part of the LOC has an amazing collection of historic maps you can view online. Alternatively, they link you to the maker of the viewing software, from where you can download a free viewer plugin for your browser (it's a unique kind of file compression, so requires a special viewer). I've looked at a bunch of the Grand Canyon maps - they are incredible. Just starting to check out the others they have. Here's the link....
