“Having camped in NYS DEC campgrounds before, I know the Rangers can be pretty strict about noise. If anyone near you complains that you're too loud, drunk or obnoxious, you'll get the boot.

Even if nobody complains, the rangers drive around with their windows rolled down and are very quiet about it. They'll stop and give one warning. If they have to stop again....see ya. I've seen them make people go to bed and then they are back at 7 AM making them pack up and leave. My bet is that they keep a close eye and that sort of thing and wouldn't be surprised if you're blacklisted from registering at another NYS DEC campground.”

“Honestly, I don't remember there being any loud behavior on the last trip, except when the kids were having a great time making smores. None of the trail talk backpacking trips I have been on have been especially loud, even with a bunch of people. So I don't think that there will be a problem with this trip.”

“There has been a lot of joking about drinking related to this trip, but unless we have horrific weather, I'm sure that most people will be hiking their little hearts out and sightseeing, and I would be surprised if people aren't asleep relatively early.”
