ARKANSAS HIKE! ! ! ! !

“Well, I've been gone awhile and I know you all missed the tar out of me. My computer fried on me, but i have a new one now, thanks to my employer. I've kindof had a rough time lately and really really really need some green time. i looked at the trips page and was sorry to see that i missed stikmon's recent trip over here. well, can't help that but i can plan a new one. don't know where....within 2 hours of here would be cool. the OHT or the BRT would be great. i'd prolly rather do the OHT because bucky can go. not sure when , i'm thinkin late march, early april ...tentatively.... the ozarks are a wonderfull place that time of year and the waterfalls are usually running. i heard yesterday that we're like 6" above normal for the year in precipitation.

i'm also commiting to hiking alot more this year. hope to see ya'll alot.

so anyways....i'm open to suggestions. i'll bring the guitar and whiskey....at least enough for me...heh heh

“you know, that I'll be there, as long as it ain't in the warmer times, but those are comin REAL soon. I am committed to a Missouri hike on the weekend of the 13th, but, will be good on heading out that way on the 19th and hiking on the 20th and 21st. Call me and we can pick out a section on the OHT.

There is an OHTA overnighter near the Buffalo around Ponca this coming weekend. Check out the newsletter for details.

I may be on the trip unless the forecast rain swells the upper Buffalo in which case I'll be kayaking instead.”

“Strat, I'm leaving for Bama tomorrow so I won't be here. Be sure & punch that obnoxious oven mitt for me.”

“that I missed out on when I did the Sylamore section of the oht with Owl 2 weeks ago. I'm gonna head back on over to knock that out, then I can say, that I've done 3 sections of the OHT. I will drive to where I met up with them, and then hike to where they started (on sat) then turn and hike back to the car on Sunday. 18 mile weekend...not that I'm keeping track or nuthin.”

There is an OHTA overnight hike on that section (plus a few miles more) on March 13 & 14. If you went with them, you wouldn't have to backtrack. Of course, it might mean having to meet new people. Maybe strat could go with you.”

“Hawn SP. and, the following weekend, I need to stay closer to home, as I will not be able to leave out till midafternoon on Sat the 20th. I have a Relay for Life fund raiser on that Sat.

I have no problems retracing steps...it provides a different perspective on the trail. I will probably do the missing sylamore section on march 26(night arrival) thru the 28th.”
