For me, this is the greatest blessing of this film... that it has affected so many people so strongly, even people who have not gone to church in a long time nor gave much thought about the sacrifice of Christ in years. Whether this movie will have a big impact on lives beyond that, time will tell, but at least it has people thinking about these things. And these are wonderful things to think about... forgiveness, hope, faith, and love.”

He made such a big deal last week about going to church on ash Wednesday. He said over and over that I should go to church and that he would be there like he is every Saturday. I said as usual that I am not Catholic, but if the wife goes, I will too.

I found out later, from his wife that they have not been to church in 3 years, since his daughter was baptised and that they did not make it on Ash Wednesday.

“I saw the movie and posted a review. It was sort of slow in my opinion. Fifty shots of Mary's face with the same dull expression. Enough all ready. The same for the torture sequence. On and on and on....

The cruxifiction scene was good. Since the movie followed the literal translation of the Gospel there were no new plot developments.
